RACE 1

ARABIAN BLUE got going too late when third over 1000m on this course on debut. The daughter of Heavenly Blue would have come on from the run and will love the rise to 1200m. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

PRICELESS TREASURE ran a good race on debut over 1000m on this course. She showed pace and stayed on at the business end. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

MIND FREEZE finished 0.15 lengths behind the second selection on debut. She showed good speed that day and stayed on at the finish. The daughter of Skitt Skizzle would have gained from the experience and if seeing out the extra 200m on offer, she may be hard to peg back.

RACE 2

ONO NO KOMACHI has produced two good runs since relocating to the Eastern Cape. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will love the rise to 2200m. She gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep her mind on the task at hand. If taking to the polytrack, she should take a power of beating.

A MONTH OF SUNDAYS finished 0.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.

MASTER WIZARD returns from an 11-week break and is having his first run for Cliffie Miller. He jumps from pole position and if taking to the polytrack surface, he should have good improvement to come.

RACE 3

DUCHESS OF SEVILLE has relocated to the Eastern Cape and is having her first run for Trainer Alan Greeff. Her effort when second over 1200m at the Vaal, three runs ago catches the eye. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and if settled into her new surroundings, she can improve to win a race of this nature.

MISS PRIOR cost herself winning last time as she hung inwards in the closing stages. She is back against her own sex and if keeping on a straight line, she should be competitive.

OH YOKO set the pace over 1200m on this course last time and stayed on to finish third. She would have come on from the outing and must be included in all bets.

RACE 4

JADE’S CABERNEIGH is better than her last start over 1200m on this course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She has won three times and finished third once from six starts over this C&D. It is encouraging that Craig Zackey steps back into the saddle and she can return to winning ways.

PROJECT RUNWAY ran a fair race against slightly stronger on the turf last time. She finished 0.05 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.

SHARAPOVA is the stable elect for the Alan Greeff yard. She was unlucky not to have won her last start over 1200m on the turf. She jumps from a good draw of two and should be involved in the fight to the finish.

 

 

RACE 5

WHATEVER NEXT is better than his last start on the turf. He was an easy winner of his penultimate run over this C&D. Richard Fourie retains the ride and if putting his best foot forward, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

DUBAI HILLS finished 1.5 lengths behind ABOUND last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

ABOUND has good recent form lines to his credit. He showed good speed over this distance on the turf last time, but was touched off by Forest Spy. He jumps from a good draw of two and may be hard to peg back.

Race 6

This is a weak Open Maiden and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is OH MANDY from the Tara Laing stable. She is better than her last start on the turf track. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. Her penultimate run when third over this C&D catches the eye. She carries a nice weight of 53.5kgs and should give the males a run for their money.

HAT HOT HAT has fair consistent form lines to his name. He returns from a 23-week break which may have done him the world of good. If not in need of this outing, he should be involved at the finish.

ALWAYS SHINING is better than his last start as he was reported to be coughing severely post- race. His penultimate run when third over 1400m was encouraging. Luyolo Mxothwa is booked to ride and he may be able to get the best out of him

RACE 7

RED SASH is better than her last two starts on the turf track. She has won three times, finished second twice and third once from seven starts on this course. The daughter of The United States jumps from a good draw of two and if putting her best foot forward, she should be the one to beat.

LADY SILVANO cost herself leaving the start last time as she flyjumped. She has won twice, finished second once and third twice from seven starts over this distance. She jumps from pole position and is one of the leading contenders.

CATCH YOUR BREATH should have finished closer to the winner last time as she was baulked for running room between the 400m mark and 200m mark. She is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D and will be looking to keep that record intact.

RACE 8

MEETATTHEWINDSOR has good consistent form lines to his credit. He has won once, finished second twice and third twice from ten starts over this C&D. He does have a wide draw to overcome, but Xolani Ndlovu knows him well and should give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

FUJISAN is better than his last start over this C&D. He took an awkward stride at the 200m mark that day and was reported to be coughing. With a bit of luck in running, he should pose a threat.

NOBLE WARRIOR showed very good improvement when second in his local debut over 1400m on the turf. Stallone Naidoo retains the ride and if confirming his recent improvement, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest
