The 6yo gelding has taken a slight drop in the ratings. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

HOPE IS POWER has good recent form lines to his credit. He has won twice and finished third twice from seven starts over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

MR HENLEY was an easy winner of his last start over this C&D. He returns from a well-deserved 14-week break. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off his back and if not in need of the run, he should be hard to peg back. 

Race 3

DRIVE BY finished 2.6 lengths behind MAMAS BABY last time. She is 7kgs better off at the weights today which is enough for the tables to be turned. If getting away to a clean start, she should notch up her sixth-career victory.

MAMAS BABY was an easy winner of her last start over this C&D. She set the pace, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. Gavin Lerena retains the ride and the combination merit healthy respect.

SWEET JULIA finished 5.8 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 4

MR HOTSTEPPER ran a good race when second over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He set the pace and stayed on at the finish. The son of Ideal World won his only attempt over this C&D. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and he should be the one to beat.

SOVEREIGN GRANT has fair recent form lines to her name. She has won once, finished second once and third once from five starts over this distance. She is the best-weighted runner in this contest and is one of the leading contenders.

LE PREMIERE is better than her recent form suggests. She has won three times and finished second twice from as many starts on this course. The daughter of Visionaire would not be a shock winner.

NUMZAAN ran a creditable race when third in his stable debut over this C&D. The son of Master Of My Fate would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and he can return to winning ways.

MAC HARDY stayed on when second over this C&D last time. The 6yo gelding has cracked a good draw of three and he is one of the leading contenders.

VICTOR RAIL was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 1000m on this course. He received a five- pound penalty for that victory. With a bit of luck from his awkward draw of nine, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 6

KING BAVARIAN has decent consistent form lines to his credit. He has won once, finished second once and third once from six starts over this distance. He jumps from a good draw of four and may be the one to side with in this field.

WAVE WARRIOR is the stable companion of the top choice. He ran a good race when second over 1600m on this course last time. The 11-week break may have done him the world of good. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and he should be competitive.

ENGLISH PRIMROSE is better than her last start on the turf. She returns from a 12-week break which would have done her the world of good. The 6yo mare is a much better horse on the polytrack and she should give the males a run for their money.

Race 7

WAY TO BURN should have finished closer to the winner over 1900m last time. She has won twice and finished second once from six starts on this course. The daughter of Erupt drops back in class and with a bit of luck in running, she should be hard to peg back.

GREY FANTACY’S last two starts have been fair. She returns from a 12-week break which would have done her the world of good. The daughter of Danon Platina is the stable elect with Tristan Godden in the saddle and she can return to best form.

SKYTRIX stayed on when third over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. The daughter of Vercingetorix is a solid back up for the Mike Miller stable.
