Race 1

DANTONFROMSANDTON was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 1000m at Turffontein. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The son of Willow Magic finished third in his only attempt over this distance. If suited to the Polytrack, he should follow up with another victory.

WILD AT WAR was not disgraced when sixth in the Grade 1 Gold Medallion last time. He won a good race when shedding his maiden tag over 1160m at Turffontein in his penultimate run. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

KALAHARI ROLLER showed good speed when winning his maiden over 1000m at the second time of asking. He returns from a 16-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. If not in need of the run, he may be hard to peg back.

Race 2

DARING DASH has shown good improvement in each of his outings to date. He set the pace over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time, but was touched off by Famous Warrior. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The son of Rabada is a progressive type and he can go one better.

TERIYAKI has consistent form lines to his name. He stayed on when fourth over 1200m on the turf last time. It must be noted that The Specialist has come out and won again since. The son of Willow Magic may be rewarded for consistency.

ALWAYS SHINING was disappointing in his last start. His form prior to that outing was encouraging. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and if putting his best foot forward, he should be involved at the finish.

Race 3

MAGIC HAT TRICK showed very good improvement when third over 2200m on the turf last time. The manner in which he ran on at the finish that day was encouraging. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Serino Moodley is likely to settle him near the rear of the field from the wide draw and he will be mowing down the frontrunners.

FIRE FORCE finished 0.7 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

RAINWATER was disappointing in his last start over a mile. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. His penultimate run when fourth over 1400m was fair. Richard Fourie steps into the saddle and there should be improvement to come.

Race 4

RUSSIAN DOLL produced a promising latest run over 1000m on this course, against male company. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. The daughter of Pathfork is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D. She will be at peak fitness for this outing and may be the one to side with.

MAGIC TATTOO was running on when third over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. The son of Willow Magic should be the first male past the post.

CONVOCATION is better than her last start in the Grade 1 SA Fillies Sprint. She won her penultimate effort over this C&D. The daughter of Flying The Flag takes a drop in class and on previous form, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 5

PIRATE PRINCE was not disgraced when fifth in the Listed Lonsdale Stirrup Cup. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He has won three times, finished second once and third once from nine starts on this course. He is the class horse in this contest and with luck in running, he may be hard to peg back.

WILLOW’S WISH has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

MAGICAL FLIGHT is better than her last start over 1500m on the Turffontein Inside course. She has won once, finished second twice and third once from six starts on this course. She is likely to race on the speed and should give the males a run for their money.

Race 6

WYZEACT has good recent form lines to his credit. He set the pace over 1400m at the Vaal last time, but was outrun late. He won his only attempt on this course, four runs ago. The son of Act Of War is the best-weighted runner in this contest and he should take a power of beating.

LUCKY DOLLAR stayed on when second over this distance on the turf last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He won his penultimate start over this C&D and is one of the leading contenders.

WILLOW EXPRESS got the upper hand late when winning his last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He received a three-pound penalty for that victory. The 6yo gelding is suited to this course and he merits healthy respect.

Race 7

MRS GERIATRIX ran a decent race when second over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Vercingetorix won her only attempt on this course. She is the best-weighted runner in this contest and can return to winning ways.

LAGUNA VERDE showed good signs of a form return in his last start over 1400m at the Vaal. He raced from a handy position, moved up but was caught late. He is the stable elect with Craig Zackey aboard and should pose a threat.

LADY FALLON returns from a 17-week break which would have done her the world of good. She has won once and finished second once from three starts over this distance. If not in need of the run and with luck from her wide draw, she should run a positive race.

Race 8

HIPPOCRATES ran a good race when third over this C&D last time. He raced from a handy position, moved up well before getting caught late. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has won three times, finished second once and third twice from eight starts over this C&D. He takes a slight drop in class and from his good draw of two, he may be the one to side with.

KNIGHT WARRIOR was running on when second over 1400m last time. Four of his seven victories have come over this C&D. He jumps from pole position and should pose a threat.

STEVIE GEE ran on well when third over this C&D last time. He does have to contend with the widest draw but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

Race 9

This is a competitive Merit Rated 74 Handicap and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is STRAWBERRY STINGER from the Harold Crawford and Michelle Rix stable. He set the pace over 1200m last time and stayed on to finish third. It must be noted that Winter Waves has come out and won again since. He should have no issues with the rise to 1400m and may be hard to peg back.

PHAKA IMALI has good recent form lines to his name. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. The son of Var merits healthy respect.

BENNI IN THE AREA’S last two starts have been good. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. He has cracked a good draw of two and should be involved in the fight to the finish
