Race 1
TEATIME TIPPLE is better than his last start over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville as he took no interest. The son of Var returns from a 10-week break which would have done him the world of good. He tries the 1400m for the first time. He meets the right field and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should be too good for this field.
GLAMORZ ran a fair race over 1000m last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Last Winter takes on older rivals, but she carries a light mass of 53kgs and should give a good account of herself.
ALWAYS SHINING ran a fair race on debut over 1200m. He lost a length leaving the start but stayed on at the finish. The son of Pomodoro would have gained from the experience and should love the extra distance on offer. He does have a wide draw of nine to contend with, but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
Race 2
EVENTIDOR showed good signs of a form return in his last start over 2000m on the turf. He lost a length leaving the start, but stayed on at the finish. He has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. The 5yo gelding has dropped in the ratings and from his good draw of two, he can return to winning ways.
JUSTFORTHEEPENNY is better than his last start over 1750m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that Allaroundtheworld has come out and won again since. He is better suited to this course and can return to best form.
WAVE WARRIOR has fair recent form lines to his name. He has won once, finished second once and third three times from seven starts over this C&D. He is likely to race on the speed from the widest draw and may be hard to peg back.
Race 3
PURPLE FLOWER raced from a handy position over this C&D last time, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Littleblackvelvet. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She jumps from pole position and may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
MADAME POMPADOUR has fair recent form lines to her name. She raced wide around the turn last time, but stayed on at the finish. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
FLYING REIGN STORM finished 0.25 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.
Race 4
KINGSMEADS KRYSTL won a good race in her last start over this C&D. She finished 0.75 lengths behind MISS LIALAH in her penultimate run. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The 5yo mare is in a good space and can follow up.
MISS LIALAH took on slightly stronger in her last start. She won her previous two efforts over this C&D, under Muzi Yeni. If putting her best foot forward, she should pose a massive threat.
VISION OF WILL has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She should have finished closer to the winner last time as she hung in the closing stages. She tries the 1400m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should have a say.
Race 5
PERFECT TRUST has found a form return in her last three starts. She set the pace over 1600m last time and stayed on to finish third. It must be noted that Spring Kiss has come out and won again since. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. From her good draw of three, she may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.
GLOBAL SECRET has good consistent form lines to her name. She has won twice, finished second twice and third once from ten starts over this C&D. She will strip a much fitter horse today and merits healthy respect.
DRIVE BY’S last start is best ignored as she was reported to be not striding out. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
Race 6
PETIT VERDOT has good consistent form lines to her credit. She over raced in her last start over 1800m but stayed on to finish third. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. She has won once, finished second three times and third once from as many starts over this C&D. If Gavin Lerena is able to switch her off early, she should notch up her fourth-career victory.
SPRING KISS is a winner of her last two starts over this C&D. She does take a rise in class but is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick.
BABY ON BOARD should have finished closer to the winner last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She runs well for Rachel Venniker and must be included in all bets.
Race 7
ALLAROUNDTHEWORLD was super-impressive when winning his last start over this C&D. He set the pace, found another kick and was geared down in the run down to the finish. The 5yo gelding received the maximum eight-pound penalty for that victory. He has found a new lease on life since stepping up in distance and can notch up the hat-trick.
ONLY A POET followed up his maiden win with a decent fourth- place finish over 1950m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He jumps from a good draw of three and is one of the leading contenders.
FAMOUS AND RICH took on stronger in his last start over 1600m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He won his only attempt over this C&D. On best form shown, he should be involved at the finish.
Race 8
MASK ON has finished fourth in his last two starts. He stayed on over this distance on the turf last time. He has won once and finished second once from three starts over this C&D. With a bit of luck from his wide draw of nine, he can return to winning ways.
STANLEY PARK finished 0.2 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.
B FIFTYTWO was in need of his comeback run on the turf. He will strip a much fitter horse and on his previous form, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest
