Race 1

TUSCAN ROMANCE was unlucky not to have won on debut as she was held up for a run until the 200m mark. The manner in which she finished off her race was eye-catching. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Master Of My Fate would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should be the horse to beat.

IN THE GREEN ZONE has produced three good efforts to date. She showed good speed over 1000m last time, but was caught late. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight should love the rise to 1200m and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

BABELICIOUS finished 4.8 lengths behind the second selection last time. If finding the form of her debut run in the Non- Black Type Kaapse Klopse Summer Coronation Plate, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 2

THE ABDICATOR has good recent form lines to his credit. He challenged strongly in his last start over this C&D, but found one too good in the form of Tough Terrain. He won his penultimate effort under Richard Fourie. If getting away to a clean start, he should notch up his fourth-career victory.

BLUFF ON BLUFF finished 1.35 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

PIROSHKA ran a good race when third in his last start against stronger company. The son of Quasillo takes on weaker company this afternoon and he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 3

ELLORIX has good recent form lines to her credit. She should have won her last start over 1200m as she hung in the final 300m. The daughter of Vercingetorix should be at home over 1100m. She is having her peak run today and may be rewarded for consistency.

HANGING ROCK stayed on when third over 1200m on this course. She returns from a 15-week break which may have done her the world of good. If not in need of this outing, she should pose a massive threat.

LUCY ROCKET should have finished closer to the winner last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. If finding the form of her penultimate run, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 4

PLUM PUDDING moved up like a winner in her last start over this C&D, but was outrun late by Hampstead Heath. The daughter of Silvano is a progressive type and with a bit of luck from her awkward draw of eight, she should go one better.

TICKING BOMB ran a fair race in her last start over 1800m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She jumps from a good draw of three and is one of the leading contenders.

SAINT BRIGID finished 1.5 lengths behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result. The daughter of Master Of My Fate will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Race 5

DAIMYO raced from a prominent position in his last start over this C&D, tried hard but found one too good in the form of Blue Bay. The son of Vercingetorix jumps from a good draw of three and if confirming his recent improvement, he can go one better.

APACHE CHIEF stayed on when third in his last start over this C&D. He has cracked pole position and gets the services of Aldo Domeyer. He is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

CHAMPONELLE ran a fair race in his first run for the Lucinda Woodruff stable. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He jumps from a handy draw of two and must be included in all bets.

Race 6

ROYAL WATCH’S last start can be ignored as he over raced in the early stages and was reported to be coughing post race. He finished 0.2 lengths behind CORONATION TIME in his penultimate effort. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won once, finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. If putting his best foot forward, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

GIMME MORE TIME ran on powerfully to win his last start over 2200m on this course. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. He is in a good space and should pose a threat.

KITCHAKAL stayed on when second over 1600m last time. He takes on weaker opposition today. He does have a wide draw to overcome but gets the services of Aldo Domeyer who should give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

Race 7

SOOTY won a good race when shedding his maiden tag last time. He showed good speed and kept finding all the way to the line. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Pathfork is a progressive type and will enjoy the rise to 1400m. He does take on stronger, but has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.

OLIVER was unlucky not to have won his last start as he was steadied at the 400m mark. He meets similar opposition this afternoon and with a bit of luck in running, he should fight out the finish.

ASPECT is a winner of his last two starts. He set the pace over this C&D last time and found extra to hold all challengers at bay. He is in a good space and with Richard Fourie in the saddle, he can notch up the hat-trick.

Race 8

SAN PEDRO set the pace over this C&D last time, but was outrun late by Itsrainingwilliam. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He has won twice and finished second twice from six starts over this distance. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. Luyolo Mxothwa retains the ride and the combination may be hard to peg back.

FUN ZONE has finished fourth in her last three starts. She took the lead at the 200m mark last time, but was outrun late. The daughter of Rafeef should give the males a run for their money.

SCALINI is much better than his last start and the 19-week break may have done him the world of good. He has won twice from three starts over this C&D. If not in need of the run, he may be the one to cause the upset.

Race 9

NORDIC QUEST finished 0.8 lengths behind PINEAPPLEMINTGREEN last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of Querari is a versatile type and may be the one to side with.

PINEAPPLEMINTGREEN quickened up well at the 200m mark to win her last start over this C&D. She received a three-pound penalty for that victory. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

MIA’S HARPER finished 2.8 lengths behind the second selection in the race referred to above. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line
