Race 1

PARENTAL GUIDANCE was an impressive winner on debut over this C&D. He raced from just off the pace, quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. The well-related son of Querari would have gained from the experience and he can remain unbeaten.

ORBIT showed good guts when winning on debut over this C&D. The son of One World showed good speed and fought back well to hold all challengers at bay. He could be anything and is one of the leading contenders.

CLAIR DE LUNE finished 0.3 lengths behind the second selection on debut. She took the lead at the 250m mark and tried hard all the way to the line. Visiting Jockey Oisin Murphy is booked to ride and she should be competitive.

Race 2

This is a competitive Cape B Stakes field and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is TENANGO from the Candice Bass-Robinson stable. He challenged strongly over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Elusive Winter. He is drawn on the wrong side of the course and with luck in running, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

CORK BAY followed up his maiden victory with a good second-place finish over 1200m on this course. He takes on stronger, but carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs and should be up to the task at hand.

TOUGH TERRAIN finished 2.25 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 3

QUESTIONING has very good consistent form lines to his credit. He challenged strongly when third in the Non-Black Type Bantry Bay Stakes last time. The son of Querari should have no issues with the drop to 1000m. He is drawn on the inside of the course and can notch up his seventh-career victory.

MEU CAPITANO was drawn on the wrong side of the course in the Grade 2 De Grendel Cape Merchants last time and is better than the run suggests. His form prior to that outing was consistent. If this run has not come too soon, he should pose a massive threat.

ZIYASHA was a shock winner in the Non-Black Type Bantry Bay Stakes last time. He showed good speed and kept rolling to hold all challengers at bay. Raymond Danielson retains the ride and the combination merit healthy respect.

Race 4

GIMMIE‘S COUNTESS is better than her last start in the Grade 1 WSB Cape Fillies Guineas. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight may be at her best over this distance. The effort that catches the eye is when fourth to Quid Pro Quo in the Grade 1 Allan Robertson Championship. She has plenty of class about her and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

SYMPHONY IN WHITE was her own worst enemy in the Grade 1 WSB Cape Fillies Guineas last time as she over raced in the early stages. The daughter of What A Winter is ideally suited to this distance and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

ASIYE PHAMBILI won a good race in the Grade 3 WSB Southern Cross Stakes last time. Richard Fourie retains the ride and she should be the first older horse past the post.

Race 5

ZAPATILLAS challenged strongly when 0.3 lengths behind RASCALLION last time. The son of Master Of My Fate will love the rise to 1800m. He is coming along the right way this season and can return to winning ways.

RASCALLION won a game race in the Grade 3 Cape Mile last time. He has won twice and finished third twice from five starts over this C&D. The 7yo gelding is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

WITHOUT QUESTION has shown some signs of needing his last two starts. He was not disgraced when fourth in the Grade 2 WSB Green Point Stakes last time. He is drawn wide in barrier 12, but Rachel Venniker knows him well and should give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

Race 6

LITTLE SUZIE was not disgraced when third in the Grade 1 WSB Cape Fillies Guineas last time. She was slow into stride, but the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. Her mother, Oh Susanna won this race as a 3yo in 2018 and defended her title the next year. The daughter of Trippi should have no issues with the rise to 1800m and it is encouraging that JP van der Merwe steps back into the saddle. She has plenty of scope and may be the one to cause the upset.

SAARTJIE did not enjoy a slow pace in the Grade 3 SplashOut Victress Stakes last time. Andre Nel has decided to put LAVENDER BAY in the race who may ensure that there is a good gallop. The daughter of Dynasty is having her peak run and cannot be ignored.

DOUBLE GRAND SLAM ran on powerfully when winning her last start over 1600m. The daughter of Vercingetorix is at her best over shorter, but she is classy and merits obvious inclusion.

Race 7

ONE STRIPE is the best bet on the programme. He was an impressive winner in the Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Cape Guineas last time. Despite hanging outwards in the closing stages, he won going away. There is likely to be a decent pace in this contest which should suit him well. With 55kgs on his back, he will be running on and can notch up his sixth-career victory.

ORIENTAL CHARM won a game race in the Grade 2 WSB Green Point Stakes last time. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. The son of Vercingetorix is likely to race on the speed from his good draw of three and merits healthy respect.

SNOW PILOT was super-impressive when winning his last start over 1400m. The son of Lancaster Bomber has the early gate speed to overcome the widest draw and he may be hard to peg back once again.

Race 8

DAIMYO set the pace in the Listed Woolavington Stakes last time and found extra to hold all challengers at bay. The son of Vercingetorix carries another light mass of 50kgs and he should be hard to peg back.

LOVE IS A ROSE finished 0.3 lengths behind HOLDING THUMBS last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

HOLDING THUMBS won a game race in his last start over this C&D. The removal of the blinkers seems to have done the trick. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should be involved at the finish.

Race 9

LET IT BE SAID finished 1.25 lengths behind O’TENIKWA last time. He is 5.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Vercingetorix should love the rise to 1400m. He jumps from a handy draw of six and may be the one to side with.

GARRIX followed up his maiden win with an equally impressive victory over this C&D. The obvious concern is his wide draw, but he gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

O’TENIKWA was his own worst enemy in the Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Cape Guineas last time as he over raced in the early stages. He should be ideally suited to 1400m and from his good draw of two, he may be hard to peg back
