Race 1
WHITE WATERS produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. She was green in running, but the manner in which she finished off her race was eye-catching. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The daughter of Erupt would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should be the one to beat.
SHEETS AND GOGGLES was a tad disappointing in her last start over 1000m on this course. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight will love the rise to 1200m. If finding the form of her debut run, she should pose a massive threat.
KINDA WONDERFUL ran a fair race on debut over 1000m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. If seeing out the extra furlong on offer, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 2
MAURITIUS KESTREL has shown good improvement in each of his outings to date. He challenged strongly in his last start but was touched off by Miss Argonaut. The son of Vercingetorix is a progressive type and in this field, he should go one better.
STATED finished 3.8 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.
TURBO TWENTY made the expected natural improvement when third in his last start over 1000m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He is a progressive type and should have more to come.
Race 3
CLIFF SWALLOW should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was switched for running room at the 200m mark. The son of Canford Cliffs is a progressive type who is looking for further. However, he meets the right field and can shed his maiden tag.
APPROACH SHOT finished 3 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.
PRINCE OF TIBET has fair recent form lines to his credit. He raced from a handy position over 1400m last time and stayed on at the finish. Aldo Domeyer takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
Race 4
KING OF NUMBERS produced a typical second run after a rest last time. He finished 1.35 lengths behind ETOILEFILLANTE in his penultimate start. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Royal Mo should love the rise to the mile. He is having his peak run today and with luck in running, he should run a big race.
ETOILEFILLANTE has finished second in his last two starts. He raced from a handy position over 1800m last time, but was outrun late by Continentalexpress. The blinkers seem to have done the trick and he can go one better.
IGUGULETHU was a tad disappointing in his last start over 1200m. He will enjoy the rise to 1600m and with luck in running, he should earn another cheque.
Race 5
OLIVER challenged strongly in his last start but found one too good in the form of Aspect. He finished 0.3 lengths behind BIG UNIT in his penultimate run. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Twice Over may be rewarded for consistency.
BIG UNIT tried hard when third in his last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He does have to overcome the widest draw, but Luyolo Mxothwa should give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
SLURRICANE stayed on when second over 1600m last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D and will be looking to keep that record intact.
Race 6
KYALAMI GIRL followed up her maiden victory with a good third-place finish over 1100m. She challenged strongly all the way to the line that day. The daughter of Querari will love the step up to 1400m. She does take on much stronger, but has class about her and she may be the one to beat from barrier three.
MY FLOWER FATE finished 0.3 lengths behind SUMMER LILY last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. If getting away to a clean start, she should be involved at the finish.
SUMMER LILY has good consistent form lines to her credit. She has won once and finished third twice from four starts over this distance. If keeping on a straight line, she should be competitive.
Race 7
RASCALLION set the pace in the Grade 1 WSB Cape Town Met last time, but was caught late by Double Superlative. He returns from a well-deserved 10-week break. The 6yo gelding has won once, finished second once and third twice from seven starts over this C&D. He jumps from a handy draw of five and may be the one to side with.
PACAYA had excuses in the Grade 1 WSB Cape Town Met last time. He has won twice from five starts over this C&D. On best form shown, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
MONTIEN ran a fair race behind the top choice in the race referred to above. He has won three times and finished second once from six starts over this distance. The break would have done him the world of good and from his good draw of three, he can feature.
Race 8
AXL finished 0.3 lengths behind MEU CAPITANO last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.
GIMMELIGHTNING finished 0.7 lengths behind MEU CAPITANO in the race referred to above. He is also 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
MEU CAPITANO produced a strong finish when winning his last start over this C&D. He received a three- pound penalty for that victory. Aldo Domeyer is booked to ride and he can follow up.
Race 9
BENEATH THE MOON won her last start but was demoted as she shifted away from the crop and caused interference with SEEKING PEACE. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today. If Keanen Steyn can keep her on a straight line, she should notch up her second-career victory.
SEEKING PEACE won her last start in the boardroom. She received a three-pound penalty for that victory. Grant van Niekerk is booked to ride and she merits healthy respect.
ROYAL LYTHAM finished 1.05 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber can finish in the placings
