Race 1

SORCERESS SUPREME was not disgraced when fifth in the Non-Black Type Cape Racing Sales Cape Slipper last time. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Erupt is back in Maiden Company this afternoon and she may be the one to side with.

DARK WINTER made the expected natural improvement when second over this C&D last time. She showed good speed but was outrun late by Symphony In White. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

FROM A DISTANCE is an unraced daughter of Querari from the Candice Bass-Robinson stable with Aldo Domeyer in the saddle. She is related to multiple winners including Far Away Winter and Distant Winter. If not in need of this outing, she should give a good account of herself. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.

Race 2

LUCE VERDE lost a length leaving the start over 1600m last time but stayed on to finish third. The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests that he will love the rise to 1800m. He is having his peak run and in this line-up, he should be the one to beat.

MARSHALL FIELD may not have seen out 2200m last time. He has won once and finished second twice from four starts over this C&D. With Bernard Fayd’Herbe back in the saddle, he should pose a massive threat.

MAJESTIC WARRIOR stayed on when fourth in his local debut over 1400m on this course. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. The 4yo gelding won his only attempt over this distance and cannot be ignored.

Race 3

PLUM PUDDING showed good improvement in her last start over 1400m on this course. She raced from a handy position but found one too good in the form of Qhawekazi. The daughter of Silvano will be at home over the mile. She is a progressive type and with luck in running, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

DEVILISHLYGORGEOUS finished 1.3 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result. She has cracked pole position and should pose a threat.

HAMPSTEAD HEATH finished 1.8 lengths behind the top choice in the race referred to above. The pair meet on the same weight terms and she may battle to turn the form around. She will enjoy the rise to the mile and will be doing her best work at the finish.

Race 4

FOUR JACKS stayed on when fifth over 1800m on this course last time. The son of Master Of My Fate has shown improvement with the blinkers fitted. He jumps from a handy draw of six and in this field, he can shed his maiden tag.

APACHE CHIEF should have finished closer to the winner last time as he had to check at the 200m mark and thereafter clipped heels. The son of Lancaster Bomber has had no luck with regards to draws. He has scope and with luck in running, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

GO IT ALONE should have finished closer to the winner last time as he received a bump at the 50m mark. The son of Gimmethegreenlight will love the rise to the mile and he should be cherry-ripe. With a bit of luck in running, he should be competitive.

Race 5

KATSU stayed on when fifth over 1600m on this course last time. He would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. The son of Louis The King should be ideally suited to 1800m. He carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs and may be the one to side with.

PREVALENCE ran on well when second over 1600m on this course last time. It must be noted that Quatermain has come out and won again since. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

SUPREME DREAM ran a fair race in the Grade 3 Summer Fling Stakes last time. She should have finished closer to the winner that day as she hung outwards in the closing stages. If keeping on a straight line, she should give the males a run for their money.

Race 6

KELP FOREST has good recent form lines to his credit. He was unlucky not to have won last time as he was held up for a run between the 150m mark and the finish. He has won once and finished third twice from six starts over this distance. Aldo Domeyer is booked to ride and with luck in running, he can notch up his third-career victory.

MASTER OF PARIS was running on when 0.5 lengths behind KEBONALESEDI last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.

KEBONALESEDI ran on from last when winning his last start over this C&D. The ear muffs have done the trick. If getting away to a clean start, he can follow up.

Race 7

AMONG THE CLOUDS is better than her last two starts in Class 4 Company. It must be noted that Rainbow Lorikeet has come out and won again since. She takes on weaker opposition this afternoon and jumps from a handy draw of six. In this line-up, she may be the one to side with.

FLY TO RIO finished 0.8 lengths behind HANG OUT THE STARS last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

HANG OUT THE STARS stayed on when third over this C&D last time. The daughter of Querari has dropped to a competitive rating and if confirming her recent improvement, she may be the one to beat.

Race 8

KING OF THE GAULS is better than his last two starts around the turn. He did not settle in the early stages of the Non-Black Type Cape Racing Gold Rush last time and understandably weakened in the straight. The son of Vercingetorix drops back to 1000m which should suit him well. With Richard Fourie back in the saddle, he should be the one to beat.

BLUE HOLLY lacked a strong finish over 1200m last time. She has won three times and finished second once from seven starts over this distance. Luyolo Mxothwa may be able to get the best out of her where it matters most.

TOUGH TERRAIN stayed on when sixth over this C&D last time. He meets weaker opposition today and with Grant van Niekerk in the saddle, he should be mowing down the frontrunners.

Race 9

SWIFT ACTION took the lead at the 200m mark last time but was outrun late by Lunch Money. He meets a similar line-up this afternoon and can go one better.

WORDSWORTH finished 0.1 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

HEAR MY VOICE ran on powerfully to win her last start over 1100m on this course. The tongue-tie has done the trick on the daughter of Captain Of All. She is in a good space and should give the males a run for their money
