WHATASTAR has produced two good second place finishes to date. She showed good speed over 1000m last time before getting outrun late by Music Of The Night. The daughter of What A Winter tries the 1200m and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she can shed her maiden tag.

TAKE IT AS RED finished 2.5 lengths behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

PARALEGAL should have finished closer to the winner on debut as she had to be steadied for running room at the 150m mark. The daughter of Captain Of All would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1200m. With the natural improvement that is expected, she would not be a shock winner.

Race 2

MISS WORLD showed good speed over this C&D last time, before getting caught late by Mai Sensation. She has won once, finished second three times and third once from six starts over this C&D. The removal of the blinkers may do the trick and it is encouraging that Corne Orffer steps back into the saddle.

MISS MARGUERITE is better than her last two starts suggest. She is a mare with ability and with Gavin Lerena in the saddle, she would not be a shock winner.

GIRL LIKE US finished 0.5 lengths behind the top selection last time. She is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. The daughter of What A Winter will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Race 3

HOERIKWAGGO has run two fair races to date. She stayed on when sixth over this C&D last time. The daughter of Canford Cliffs has scope and in this field, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

ANOTHER DREAM finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. If finding the form of her debut run, she should go close to winning.

RAHHABBA stayed on when third over 1400m last time. The drop to 1200m is a slight concern, but she is a filly with scope and cannot be ignored.

Race 4

FLYING FINLEY has run three good races to date. He was doing his best work late when fourth over this C&D last time. The son of Oratorio meets the right field and he should take a power of beating.

POETIC PRINCESS has fair consistent form lines to her credit. She stayed on when fourth over 1200m last time. JP van der Merwe is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

MEG’S LEGACY received a bump leaving the start last time, but the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The daughter of Legislate has scope and with Grant van Niekerk in the saddle, she can feature.

 

 

Race 5

CRESCENT ran a good race when second over 1400m on this course last time. He was unlucky not to have won that day as he was held up for a run at the 400m mark. The son of Legislate will love the rise to 1600m. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

REAL STUNNER stayed on nicely when third over this C&D last time. It must be noted that Red Dawn has come out and won again since. The son of Oratorio is a progressive type and he is one of the leading contenders.

LANDOFTHERISINGSUN has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this distance. The son of Danon Platina will be mowing down the frontrunners at the finish.

Race 6

KING’S QUEST followed up his maiden victory with a good third-place finish over 1400m on this course. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day suggests that he will love the rise to 1600m. Aldo Domeyer retains the ride and he may be the one to side with.

PLEASE BE TRUE should have finished a lot closer to the winner last time as he had no clear run in the straight. The son of One World steps up to a mile and with a bit of luck in running, he should be involved at the finish.

SCALINI finished 2.15 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 7

FLY FUTURA stumbled leaving the starting stalls last time, but stayed on nicely to finish third. The manner in which he has been finishing off his races suggests that he will love the rise to 2200m. If getting away to a clean start, he can return to winning ways in this field.

TWICE THE MASTER finished 0.35 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.

BOMBERS IN THE SKY won a good race when shedding his maiden tag over 1800m on this course last time. He set the pace, found another kick and drew clear in the closing stages. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He takes on stronger, but has ability and should be up to the task at hand.

Race 8

SOHOT SOWHAT followed up her impressive maiden win with a good victory over 1200m. It must be noted that the form of her last outing has been franked. The daughter of Soqrat will love the rise to 1400m and she can bring up the hat-trick.

JOU LEKKER DING finished 3.3 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

GIRL MAGIC was a shock winner when shedding her maiden tag over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Jay Peg takes on stronger, but she has scope and should give a good account of herself.

Race 9

GRAVITY tried hard when third over 1200m on this course last time. The removal of the blinkers seems to have done the trick. Corne Orffer retains the ride and the combination may close off the meeting.

EASY MONEY won a good race over 1200m last week Wednesday. The daughter of Potala Palace received a four-pound penalty for that victory. If this run has not come too soon, she should be involved at the finish.

COUNTRY TIME was disappointing behind the second selection last time. Her previous two efforts were fair. If putting her best foot forward, she can earn another cheque for her patrons
