Race 1
LAST ONE STANDING produced an eye-catching debut effort at a long price, over this C&D. He took time to find his feet, but finished his race off strongly. The son of Twice Over would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should go one better.
FUTURE FLO took on winners in the Non-Black Type Bloodstock SA Sales Cup (C&G). His form prior to that outing was good. He is back in Maiden Company today and is one of the leading contenders.
GORGEOUS GUY has improved in his last two starts over this C&D. He should have finished closer to the winner last time as he hung and shifted away from the crop. The son of Canford Cliffs is progressive and must be included in all bets.
Race 2
MINOGUE produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. She showed good speed, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Twinklelittlestar. The daughter of Vercingetorix would have gained from the experience and can improve to go one better.
CUE THE REBEL has produced two good second place finishes to date. She was still green in running last time and hung in the closing stages. The daughter of Querari is a progressive type and should fight out the finish.
VISION TO ACHIEVE took on winners in the Grade 2 Debutante last time. Her effort when second over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville, three runs ago was encouraging. She is back in Maiden Company and may be hard to peg back.
Race 3
Trainer Mike Miller holds a strong hand in this contest. ANCIENT WORLD was running on well when third over 1600m on this course last time. The son of Vercingetorix is progressive and will love the rise to 1750m. He is the stable elect with Tristan Godden in the saddle and may be the one to beat.
BILLY OF TEA has shown good improvement in each of his outings to date. He moved up well over 1950m last time, but was outrun late by Trois Trois Quatre who has won again since. The son of Flying The Flag should have no issues with the drop to 1750m and he should be involved.
STREETSHAVENONAME finished 2 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today which is not enough for the tables to be turned, but he should finish closer as a result.
Race 4
GRANDI ORECCHIE is a winner of her last two starts. She ran on powerfully when winning her last start over 1800m on the polytrack. She has finished second twice from as many starts over this C&D. Apprentice Trent Mayhew takes the 4kgs off her back and the hat-trick is definitely on the cards.
AQUAE SULIS finished 2.8 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 4kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around. She does have a wide draw to contend with, but gets the services of Craig Zackey who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
SOLDIER‘S EYE ran a fair race in the Grade 1 Douglas Whyte Thekwini Stakes last time. This is her first run in Handicap Company. She has plenty of scope and should give her older rivals a run for their money.
Race 5
SUN BLUSHED was not beaten far in the Grade 2 Post Merchants last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of The United States won his only attempt over this C&D. He is having his peak run today and on best form shown, he should notch up his third career victory.
MRS BROWNING was not disgraced when fifth in the Grade 2 East Coast Radio Tibouchina Stakes last time. She returns from a 10-week break which may have done her the world of good. She is likely to race on the speed and if fit, she may be hard to peg back.
CAPTAIN CASEY was a tad disappointing in the Non-Black Type KZN Breeders Mile last time. He won his only attempt over this C&D. The son of Captain Of All is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. He cannot be ignored in this line-up.
Race 6
PRINCESS ARLOWE was super-impressive when winning her maiden over 1200m on this course. She showed good speed, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. The blinkers have done the trick on the daughter of Vercingetorix. She should have no issues with drop to 1000m and she has plenty of scope.
HEREINAFTER finished 0.05 lengths behind DIVINE MOONLIGHT last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The 6yo mare is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
DIVINE MOONLIGHT ran a good race when second over this distance on the polytrack last time. If keeping on a straight line, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 7
LUCKY MISS has good consistent form lines to her credit. She challenged strongly in the Listed Off To Stud Stakes last time, but found one too good in the form of Emerald Princess. She has won once, finished second twice and third once from five starts over this C&D. The daughter of What A Winter can notch up her fourth career victory
NATIONAL STAR should have finished closer to the winner last time. She has won once and finished third once from four starts over this distance. Richard Fourie does duty and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
KAILENE stayed on when fourth over 1600m last time. She finished 2 lengths behind the top choice that day. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.
Race 8
PONGOLA ran a good race when third over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. He should have finished closer to the winner that day as he was switched for running room at the 200m mark. He is having his peak run today and with a bit of luck in running, he should be the one to beat.
RODRIGUEZ fought hard in his last start over this C&D, but found one too good in the form of Ibutho. He takes a drop-in class and if repeating that effort, he should pose a threat
JUSTFORTHEEPENNY has decent form lines to his credit. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in his last start has come out and won since. He drops back in class and will be staying on at the finish
