Race 1

DISTING has produced two good efforts to date. It must be noted that multiple horses from her last form line have come out and won since. The daughter of Global View should have no issues with the rise to 1200m and if suited to the track, she can shed her maiden tag.

IZIBULO produced a promising debut effort over 1000m on this course. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber would have gained from the experience and she should love the extra furlong on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should be competitive.

CAPE CAPRI finished 1.3 lengths behind the second selection on debut. She raced green, but stayed on at the finish. She would have come on from the run and is expected to be competitive.

Race 2

FLYINGCOOL stayed on nicely when third in his last start over 1200m. The son of Flying The Flag is a progressive type and should love the rise to 1400m. From his good draw of two, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

FIELD MARSHAL finished 1.2 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. The son of Lancaster Bomber should make the natural progression.

PROFESSOR LUPIN was in need of his stable debut over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. With luck in running, he should be involved at the finish.

Race 3

NELSON BAY finished 1.5 lengths behind MASTER JOSH last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won once and finished third once from four starts over this C&D. He will strip a much fitter horse today and from pole position, he can notch up his fourth-career victory.

MASTER JOSH won a good race in his last start over 1200m. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has won once and finished second three times from six starts over this distance. He is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

TSAR BOMBA hails from the visiting Johan Janse van Vuuren stable. He finished third in his only attempt over this distance. Gavin Lerena steps back into the saddle and he should give another good account of himself.

Race 4

This is a competitive In Full Flight Handicap field and caution is advised. CLIFF HANGER from the Johan Janse van Vuuren stable is the tentative first selection. He ran a good race when third in his last start in the Grade 3 Betway National Currency Sprint. It must be noted that One Fell Swoop has come out and won again since. He won on this race day last year and is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and he may be the one to side with.

GOOD TRAVELLER should have won his last start as he hung in the final 150m. He is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D. If keeping on a straight line, he can keep that record intact.

CAPTAIN BOMBSHELL finished 1.1 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.

Race 5

JUST RECKLESS was doing her best work late when second in the Grade 2 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Nursery last time. She has won twice and finished second once from as many starts on this course. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight may be the one to side with.

GREY FANTACY’S last start must be ignored as the jockey was dislodged at the start. She won a good race when shedding her maiden tag over this C&D, in her penultimate run. Tristan Godden steps back into the saddle and the pair merit healthy respect.

DARK WINTER was a beaten favourite in her last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. She will enjoy the drop to 1100m and if this run has not come too soon, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 6

FINE ONE is better than his last start in the Grade 2 TAB SA Nursery. His first three career efforts on this course were good. The son of One World is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.

IMPACT INVESTOR was an easy winner when shedding his maiden tag at the second time of asking. The son of Gimmethegreenlight is a progressive type and if settled into KZN, he should pose a massive threat to the top choice.

CYMRIC showed good speed when winning his maiden at the third time of asking. The son of Vercingetorix is a progressive type and he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 7

ASIYE PHAMBILI is better than her last two starts in the Western Cape. She returns from a short nine- week break which would have done her the world of good. She has won once and finished second three times from as many starts over this distance. She is ideally suited to this course and on best form shown, she should be the one to beat.

KWINTA’S LIGHT is better than her last start in the Grade 1 World Pool Cape Flying Championship. She has won three times, finished second four times and third twice from eleven starts over this distance. On her previous form, she should go close to winning.

RIPPLE EFFECT finished 0.7 lengths behind BALTIC SECRET last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of Erupt can cause the upset.

Race 8

JAZZ FESTIVAL ran on from last when having to overcome the widest draw over this C&D last time. The son of Flower Alley has dropped to a competitive rating. Richard Fourie rides from a handy draw of five and he may be able to get the best out of him where it matters most.

POLITICAL PARTY has shown good improvement in his last two starts. He has won once, finished second three times and third once from nine starts over this distance. With luck in running, he should be competitive.

PONGOLA ran a good race when third in his last start over this C&D. He takes a slight drop-in class and will be right there at the finish
