Race 1
TEATIME TIPPLE made the expected natural improvement when second in his last start over 1000m on the polytrack. He moved up well that day, fought hard but
found one too good in the form of Ziyasha. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The son of Var is a progressive type and can go one better
LICENCE TO THRILL produced a decent debut effort over this C&D. He lost a length leaving the start, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. It must be noted that Tail Of The Comet has come out and finished third in a Grade 2 since. The son of Twice Over would have gained from the experience and will make the natural improvement.
HELSINKI showed good improvement in his last start over 1000m on this course. That was his first run as a gelding which seems to have done the trick.
Race 2
TWINKLELITTLESTAR produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. She understandably raced green, but showed good pace and stayed on nicely at the finish. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The daughter of Silvano would have come on from the run and with the natural improvement that is expected, she may be the one to beat.
SEA OF TEARS is better than her last start over 1000m on this course. She finished in the placings in her previous four outings. The daughter of Crusade should earn another cheque for her patrons in this line-up.
MADAME ZEE showed improvement in her last start over this distance on the polytrack. She should have won that day as she had to be switched at the 150m mark. With a bit of luck in running, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 3
KUMEMORI has finished fourth in his last three starts over 1200m. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to the mile. The son of Gold Standard jumps from pole position and if not too far out of his ground turning for home, he should shed his maiden tag.
MAMBO‘S CALL stayed on when third over 1700m at the Vaal. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. If all went well with his travels, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
ABERDEEN stayed on at the finish over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Canford Ice. He has cracked a good draw of two and Muzi Yeni may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
Race 4
MR PIGALLE had to overcome a wide draw over 1500m on this course last time and stayed on to finish fifth. He has won once, finished second once and third twice from eight starts over this distance. The 6yo gelding takes a drop-in class and from his handy draw of six, he is capable of returning to winning ways.
SLEEK AS SILK ran a decent race when fifth over 1400m on the polytrack last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. She won her only attempt over this C&D. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off her back and she should give the males a run for their money.
IBUTHO has good recent form lines to his credit. He has won twice, finished second twice and third twice from seven starts over this distance. He may be at his best on the polytrack, but is in a good space and can show.
Race 5
DANDOLO won a good race in his last start over 1200m on the polytrack. He raced from a handy position, quickened up well and won with a ton in hand. He has won twice and finished second once from five starts over this distance. The 10-week break would have done him the world of good and with the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Trent Mayhew, he can follow up.
QUANDARY is better than his last three starts. He finished second in his only attempt on this course. The son of Vercingetorix takes a drop-in class and he is one of the leading contenders.
PRINCEKRESH should have finished closer to the winner last time. He has won four times, finished second twice and third twice from eleven starts over this C&D. Muzi Yeni takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most
Race 6
QUERANDI showed good speed in her last start over this C&D, but was caught late by Bomber Girl. The daughter of Querari takes on older rivals, but she has some class about her and should be up to the task at hand.
SWEET SYMPHONY should have finished closer to the winner last time. She carries another handy galloping mass of 54kgs and if getting away to a clean start, she should fight out the finish.
BEVIES DELIGHT is better than her last start as the jockey reported something to be amiss in running. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. The daughter of Vercingetorix takes a drop in the ratings and can earn a cheque for her patrons.
Race 7
GOLDEN TATJANA is better than her last start against male company in the Grade 2 Durban Golden Horseshoe. It must be noted that Sandringham Summit has come out and won a Grade 1 since. The daughter of Erupt takes on weaker company today and with Muzi Yeni in the saddle, she should be hard to peg back.
DHONI caught the eye when second over 1600m on debut. He was slow into stride, but finished his race off strongly. It must be noted that William Iron Arm has come out and won again since. He would have strengthened up during his time off the track and if the 1200m is not too short for him, he should be one of the leading contenders.
QHAWE LAMI was a tad disappointing in his last start over 1000m on the Vaal Classic course. He won his two previous outings in style. The son of Duke Of Marmalade tries the 1200m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should have a say.
Race 8
BLAZING KISS finished 1.5 lengths behind RECKLESS LOVE last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line. Stable jockey Athandiwe Mgudlwa takes the ride and with a bit of luck in running, she should be competitive.
RECKLESS LOVE is a winner of her last two starts. She received a four-pound penalty for her last victory. She is in a good space and from her good draw of two, she can notch up the hat-trick
MY CHERIE AMOUR took on stronger company in her last start over 1800m on the polytrack. She is having her first run on this course and from her good draw of three, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 9
GIVERS GRACE should have finished much closer to the winner last time as she had no luck in the straight. The daughter of Hat Puntano takes on older rivals, but she has ability and should be up to the task at hand. With luck in running, she is capable of winning a race of this nature
FORESHORE was an easy winner when shedding her maiden tag over 1400m on this course. She has changed stables since and is having her first run for Duncan Howells. The daughter of Wylie Hall takes on stronger, but she has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.
GELSOMINA showed some good signs of a form return in her last start over this distance on the polytrack. She takes a slight drop-in class and must be included in all bets
