BLACKJACK RANDALL finished 0.7 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. He is a progressive type and is one of the leading contenders.

LIKE FIRE’S last two starts have been fair. He finished 1.4 lengths behind the top selection in his penultimate run. He is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights and may have to settle for the same result. He has scope and can finish in the placings.

Race 2

RAINBOW REWARD returns from a 19-week break, during which time he changed stables. The son of Rafeef has decent Gauteng form lines to his credit. Gavin Lerena rides on his return and if settled into his new surroundings, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

MOJO MAN returns from a 12-week break and is having his first run for Mike and Mathew de Kock. The son of Rafeef has dropped in the ratings and on best form shown, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

ICY BLAST should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was cramped for galloping room at the 400m mark. He finished 1.75 lengths behind the second choice in his penultimate run. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer. He is carded to race on 07 March 2025 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.

Race 3

GORGEOUS BOMB produced an eye-catching debut run over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. It must be noted that Abaddon has come out and won again since. She returns from a 10-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. Gavin Lerena retains the ride and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

ONE ARMED BANDIT ran a good race when third over 1200m on this course last time. He showed good speed before getting outrun late. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. Should the top choice fluff her lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

GALACTIC LOVER showed some improvement in his last start over 1200m on this course. He was reported to be not striding out that day. The son of Futura is coming along the right way and may have more to come.

Race 4

ZENA ROSE ran on strongly when second over this C&D last time. She has cracked a good draw of four and if repeating that effort in this field, she should go one better.

RANI TARABAI finished 0.6 lengths behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

DEE DAY is still a maiden after 18 starts. However, she ran a creditable race when third over 1600m on this course last time. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber is likely to race on the speed and she may be hard to peg back.

Race 5

AGRADO was doing his best work late when third over 1200m last time. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to 1400m. The son of Global View is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from his wide draw and with luck in running, he may be the one to beat.

BURNING MAN raced from a handy position over this distance on the polytrack last time, but found one too good in the form of Notable. He was an easy winner of his penultimate run over this C&D. He is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

GIMMETHEGOODLIFE finished 0.6 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

 

 

Race 6

PERILLA is better than her last start which was over a distance short of her best. Her form prior to that outing was consistent. Five of her seven career victories have come over this distance. She jumps from a good draw of three and should be the one to beat.

BEVIES DELIGHT cost herself leaving the start last time as she lost three lengths. She won her only attempt over this C&D. She finished 2.9 lengths behind the top choice, three runs ago. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

WARRIOR ROYALE finished 1.1 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.

Race 7

CAPE EAGLE ran a fair race in the Grade 1 Betway Summer Cup last time. He returns from a 14-week break which would have done him the world of good. He has won twice and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. The son of Vercingetorix is the class horse in this contest and he should notch up his tenth-career victory.

MISS PLATINA found one too good in the form of Selukwe in the Non-Black Type UmThombothi Stakes last time. Her last victory came over this C&D. She carries a light mass and should throw out a big challenge to the males.

POSITIVE ATTITUDE finished 1.05 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 2kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.

Race 8

POURSOMESUGARONME is better than her last start suggests as she had no luck in the straight. Her form prior to that outing was consistent. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. With a bit of luck in running, she may be the one to cause the upset.

RADU has fair recent form lines to her credit. She should have finished closer last time as she was inconvenienced at the 250m mark and her pilot dropped his crop in running. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

FORWARD MOTION was running on when second over 1400m on this course last time. She finished 3.1 lengths behind the second selection in her penultimate run. She is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around.

Race 9

B FIFTYTWO finished 1.1 lengths behind TRAFALGAR SQUARE last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. 4kgs claiming apprentice Sifisokuhle Bungane retains the ride and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

FUTURE FLO won a good race in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He finished second in his penultimate run over this C&D. Rachel Venniker knows him well and the pair merit healthy respect.
