Race 1
Nine unraced juveniles go to the post here, so the betting should be the best guide as to the chances of each runner, but trainer Mike Miller has made a habit of winning these races in the past.
Stable jockey Tristan Godden has elected to ride FINE ONE from gate one, which could indicate that this is the stable elect.
QUELIMANE is his stable companion with Richard Fourie in the irons.
WORLD PHAROAH hails from the Kom Naidoo yard with Craig Zackey aboard and jumps from gate eight.
Race 2
TRUE TROJAN followed up his maiden victory in his penultimate start over eleven furlongs with a third-place finish next time out over twelve furlongs, 3.15 lengths behind the winner. He stayed on well that day suggesting that the extra ground on offer today will be to his liking. With Richard Fourie in the saddle, he looks to be the one to side with here.
TOP TEN also stayed on smartly to finish eighth her latest outing over 1900m, 2.95 lengths back from the winner. She is a 6-year-old mare taking on the boys, but she will get 4kgs taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice, Brevan Plaatjies as well as a handy draw three.
BILLY OF TEA won his maiden race last time out over twelve furlongs by a head at the eighth time of asking. He just held on that day and whilst taking on stronger here, he could prove hard to reel in over the latter stages.
Race 3
TEATIME TIPPLE has finished second in his last two starts over today’s sprint trip, the latest by just a neck. The gelding was catching the winner over the closing stages and will be hoping to go one better today.
SPECMAGIC drops in trip after finishing sixth last time out over seven furlongs, 2.5 lengths back from the winner. He is drawn the widest of them all in gate nine, but on the plus side, he will have 4kgs removed from his allocated weight courtesy of his claiming apprentice Kobeli Lihaba.
SPIRIT ABRAHAM is an unraced Global View gelding from the Tony Rivalland yard with Richard Fourie in the saddle. He has a handy draw three and any betting support for him should be respected.
Race 4
CELTIC BEAUTY finished strongly to end up in fourth-place on debut over six furlongs, 1.8 lengths behind the winner. She attracted market support that day, suggesting that she had been showing good work at home. Richard Fourie now takes the ride and despite a wide draw fourteen, she may prove too good for this field.
WHEN EVENING COMES is seldom too far off the action, finishing fourth in her latest outing over 1700m, 1.8 lengths off the winner. She raced handy in that event and then did not quite go on with her effort. The drop in trip is sure to be to her liking. VIHAAN’S QUEEN stayed on well when finishing third first time out over six furlongs, 1.3 lengths off the winner. She would have learnt from that experience and with the natural improvement that can be expected, she could find her way into the winner’s box.
Race 5
FAIRY TRIPP is seldom far off the action, finishing third last time out over a mile 2.2 lengths behind the victor. She stayed on well over the closing stages in that contest and whilst drawn wide in gate ten, she should turn in another honest effort today.
NIGHTINGALES SING lost 2.5 lengths at the start when ending up in fourth spot on debut over a mile, 3 lengths behind the winner. She would have come on with that run and with natural improvement, she could emerge as the biggest danger to the top choice.
WESTOCKMARKETBORSE has consistent form lines to her name, finishing sixth last time out over a mile, 3 lengths back from the winner, but she did race wide in the early stages, costing herself valuable ground.
Race 6
PURPLE OPERATOR hung out over the closing stages when finishing second in his latest outing over six furlongs, 1.8 lengths behind the winner. He steps up to seven furlongs and has drawn gate eight, but Richard Fourie retains the ride and he will be looking to chalk up his fourth career victory today.
OSHAKATI was reported to have made a respiratory noise when finishing seventh last time out over seven furlongs, 2.55 lengths back from the winner. He has pulled a useful draw four and should be right up there when they hit the line.
BIG SLICK finished sixth last time out when dropping down to five furlongs, 2.75 lengths behind the winner. The gelding faces a wide draw ten, but he could do better over the extended journey.
Race 7
DONQUERARI is seldom far off the action, finishing fifth last time out over five furlongs, 1.8 lengths back from the victor. He made good late progress that day and with Gavin Lerena in the irons, he looks to be the one to side with in this line-up.
LUNARCAM showed plenty of toe when finishing second in his latest start over five furlongs, 1.4 lengths off the winner.
MASK ON is drawn the widest of them all in gate fifteen, but he has his hat-trick run after two victories over today’s sprint trip, the latest by 0.4 lengths. He faces stronger, but he may well be up to the task at hand
Race 8
CONVOCATION missed out on her hat-trick when finishing second last time out over five furlongs and returning from a rest. She showed any mount of speed that day and she will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways today.
SWEET SYMPHONY goes for her hat-trick after two wins over six furlongs, the latest by 0.6 lengths. She returns from a 12-week rest, but from gate six, she has a bright chance to complete the trio.
ACACIA’S BLOSSOM followed up her penultimate run victory over five furlongs with a seventh-place finish next time out over five furlongs, 2,4L back from the winner. She made good late progress that day and should appreciate the extra ground on offer here. With 4kgs being taken off her back by her claiming apprentice and from gate two, she should be a big runner here
