Race 1

CHOISAANADA produced a promising debut effort over 1160m on the Standside course. He was green in running, but the manner in which he finished off his race was eye-catching. The son of Querari would have gained from the experience and should love the extra distance on offer. If not in need of the run, he should be the one to beat.

SPIRITO SELVAGGIO ran a decent race on debut over 1400m on the Standside course. He returns from a 15-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. If fit, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

WARNING SOUND is an unraced daughter of Lancaster Bomber from the Sean Tarry stable with Craig Zackey in the saddle. She is related to multiple winners including Sound Of Warning and Call To Unite. If not too green in running, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.

Race 2

DAMOVA was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over 2400m at the Vaal. It must be noted that Ideal Future has come out and won since. She is in a good space and in this field, she can follow up.

SNEAK PREVIEW dead-heated when winning her last start over 2000m at the Vaal. She won her only attempt on this course. The daughter of Fire Away should have no issues with this distance and should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

ANGEL‘S WISH‘S last start is best ignored as she was reported to be not striding out. She finished 3 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights and should finish closer as a result.

Race 3

JILTED ran a good race when second over 1200m on this course last time. She should have finished closer to the winner that day as she stumbled leaving the start and her pilot dropped his reins at the 200m mark. She has cracked a good draw of two and if getting a clean start, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

WEARINGOFTHEGREEN was in need of her debut effort over 1200m. She would have come on from the run and should love the extra distance on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should be competitive.

MOUNTAIN HIGH returns from a 22-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. She has been costly to follow but looks to have some ability and she can feature.

Race 4

APACHE SON is better than his last start as he lost two lengths leaving the start and was reported to be not striding out. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He won his previous two outings well. The son of The Apache will love the rise to 2000m and if getting a clean start, he can return to winning ways.

TAMARISK TREE was running on when second over this distance on the Vaal Classic course last time. It is a small field and he should not be too far out of his ground turning for home.

IMPERIAL MASTER may have hit the front too early over this distance at the Vaal last time. He finished second in his only C&D attempt. The 7yo gelding merits healthy respect.

Race 5

SILVER SANCTUARY stayed on when ninth in the Grade 1 Ridgemont Garden Province Stakes last time. She returns from a well-deserved 14-week break and is making her season debut. She has won twice and finished second twice from six starts over this distance. This run will bring her on for future races but she has the class to be competitive.

FRANCES ETHEL finished 1.65 lengths behind the top choice last time. She was carded to race in the Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Durban July but was withdrawn. The daughter of Rafeef is unbeaten from two starts over this distance. She is a filly with loads of class and merits healthy respect.

WINCHESTER MANSION is better than his last start in the Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Durban July. This effort will bring him on for future races but he will be finishing off his race well.

Race 6

FATAL FLAW ran a good race when second in the Grade 1 Douglas Whyte Thekwini Stakes last time. She raced from a handy position but found one too good in the form of Quid Pro Quo. The daughter of New Predator is the best-weighted runner with 50kgs on her back. With a bit of luck from her awkward draw of eight, she should give the males a run for their money.

GIMMEANOTHERCHANCE was in need of his last start in the Grade 2 Betway Joburg Spring Challenge. He gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep his mind on the task at hand. He will strip fitter and a form return is expected.

GUY GIBSON showed signs of needing his last start over 1200m. Back In Business has come out and won again since. He will strip much fitter and he can finish in the placings.

Race 7

FORGIVENESS won a game race in her last start over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. She cast a shoe in running that day which makes the victory that much more encouraging. She is having her peak run and may be the one to side with.

I AM REGAL dead-heated when winning her last start over this distance at the Vaal. She takes a rise in class but is in a good space and should be up to the task at hand.

AVOONTOAST finished 1.5 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

Race 8

BOOM BOOM should have finished closer to the winner last time as she was cramped for galloping room in the latter stages. The daughter of Erupt takes a drop back in Class. Raymond Danielson is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

HAT‘S QUEEN was an easy winner of her last start over 1800m on the Vaal Classic course. She has finished second once and third once from as many starts on this course. With a bit of luck from her awkward draw of nine, she should pose a threat.

IDEAL FUTURE was an easy winner of her last start over this distance on the Vaal Classic course. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, she should be hard to peg back at the finish
