CYMRIC produced a decent debut effort over this C&D. He was slow into stride, but stayed on to finish second. The son of Vercingetorix would have come on from the run and with experience on his side, he may be the one to beat.
LEGEND OF ARTHUR is an unraced son of Lancaster Bomber from the Sean Tarry stable with Richard Fourie in the saddle. If not in need of this outing, he should give a good account of himself. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other unraced entrants.
MOUNT PINATUBO is the stable companion of the top choice and he is a son of Erupt. If not too green in running, he should give a good account of himself.

KINDRED HEART made the expected natural improvement when second in her last start over 1160m on this course. The manner in which she finished off her race that day was encouraging. The drop to 1000m is a slight concern, but she should strip much fitter and can go one better in this line-up.
GAELIC DANCER ran a fair race on debut over this distance on the Vaal Classic course. The daughter of Querari would have gained from the experience and should make the natural progression.
GOLDEN CHANDELIER stayed on when third over this distance on the Vaal Classic course last time. The daughter of William Longsword is a progressive type and she can finish in the placings.

TOO LATE MY MATE was green in running on debut but ran on well to finish third. The daughter of Master Of My Fate would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1400m. With the natural improvement that is expected and from her good draw of four, she should take a power of beating.
INTRO stayed on when second over 1000m last time. She finished 3.5 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.
STARS AND BRA’S finished 1 length behind the second choice on debut. She was green in running but stayed on well to finish fourth. The daughter of New Predator will love the rise in distance and she should have improvement to come.

GOLDEN SICKLE is a winner of her last three starts. She showed good speed over this C&D last time, found another kick and drew clear of the opposition. Despite her big mass of 62.5kgs, she should keep her unbeaten record over this C&D intact.
TROPPO VELOCE was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over 1160m on this course. She finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. FLOWERBOGOLDEN SICKLE is a winner of her last three starts. WESTERN WISHES produced an encouraging comeback run over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She lost two lengths leaving the start, but stayed on nicely at the finish. The daughter of What A Winter will love the rise to 1400m. Richard Fourie is booked to ride from a good draw of two and she may be the one to side with.
PRINCESS ILARIA won a good race in her last start over 1450m on the Vaal Classic course. She is back against her own sex, is in a good space and can follow up.
HILLARY STEP raced in a feature race last time. She won a good race when shedding her maiden tag over 1160m in her penultimate run. The daughter of Canford Cliffs has plenty of scope and with the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Trent Mayhew, she can show.
Race 6
MID WINTER WIND followed up his easy maiden win with a good victory over 1160m on this course. The son of What A Winter should have no issues with the step up to 1400m. He does take another rise in class but carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs and should be up to the task at hand. He is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick.
TEXAS RED was doing his best work late from a wide draw over this C&D last time. He takes a drop-in class and from his good draw of four, he is one of the leading contenders.
LAGUNA VERDE ran on powerfully to win his last start over 1450m on the Inside course. He finished 4.25 lengths behind the second choice, three runs ago. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
Race 7
LUCKY LAD is much better than his last start in the Grade 1 Premiers Champion Stakes as he got off to an awkward start and raced wide around the turn. He returns from a 30-week break which would have done him the world of good. The son of Gimmethegreenlight is unbeaten from three starts on this course. If fit, he should be too good for this field.
ZIYASHA was an easy winner of his last start over 1000m on this course. He showed good speed, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
CLIFF HANGER’S last three starts have been decent. He finished 4.25 lengths behind the second choice in his penultimate run. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
Race 8
GOLDEN ASPEN should have finished closer to the winner last time as she was inconvenienced at the 300m mark. She has won once and finished third twice from five starts over this C&D. The daughter of Pomodoro has dropped to a competitive rating and she should give the males a run for their money.
LIL MISS MONEYBAGS ran a fair race against stronger over 1200m on the Vaal Classic course last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She takes a drop-in class and is one of the leading contenders.
TWICE AS WILD showed good speed when winning her last start over 1200m on the Inside course. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She is in a good space and merits obvious inclusion.
Race 9
VIRGINIA BEACH showed good speed when second over this distance on the Vaal Classic course last time. She returns from a 10-week break which may have done her the world of good. If not in need of this outing, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
NETTLETON is a winner of her last two starts. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last outing has come out and won since. The daughter of What A Winter will be mowing down the frontrunners.
WORK OF TIME followed up her maiden win with a good third-place finish over 1450m on the Vaal Classic course. The saddle was reported to have slipped that day. She drops to 1000m and has plenty of scope. She is the stable elect and cannot be ignored
