Winning Form selections for all races from the Vaal on Thursday 17th October where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter @Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge

Race 1 

MISS LIA has produced two good runs to date. She challenged strongly in both those efforts. The daughter of Talk Of The Town returns from a 13-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. She meets the right field and if not in need of this outing, she should be the one to beat.

CAT O’CLOCK has consistent form lines to her credit. She has finished second once and third three times from as many starts over this C&D. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

SONIC JET is lightly raced with decent form lines to her credit. She returns from a 23-week break. Muzi Yeni is booked to ride and if fit, she should earn another cheque for her patrons.

Race 2

GREEN SAPPHIRE has run to decent races to date. She stayed on when second over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight returns from a 21-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. Craig Zackey rides on her return and she should be competitive. 

PURSUIT OF FAME showed good speed over 1000m on the Classic course last time, but was caught late. He has finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff her lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

POTBERRIE should have finished closer to the winner last time. He has finished second once and third once from three starts on this course. Muzi Yeni steps back into the saddle and he can finish in the placings. 

Race 3

SO SEDUCTIVE stayed on when third against stronger over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. The daughter of Vercingetorix takes a drop in class and despite top weight, she should be the one to beat. 

KINGS AGAIN was given a peach of a ride when winning on debut over 1200m on this course. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She does take on stronger, but could be anything and can remain unbeaten. 

STARS AND BRA‘S is lightly raced with some good form lines to her credit. She returns from a 19-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. If not in need of the outing, she should give a good account of herself. 

Race 4

GLAMOROUS LADY tried hard in her last start over 1600m on the Turffontein Inside course, but found one too good in the form of Fireburst. The daughter of New Predator should love the rise to 1700m. She should enjoy racing on a longer run-in and may find herself in the winner’s enclosure. 

AMBITIOUS LADY ran a good race when second over 1800m on this course last time. Gavin Lerena retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respect. 

ANCIENT WISDOM received a bump leaving the start in her last outing over 1600m on the Turffontein Inside course. The daughter of Ideal World should have no issues with the rise to 1700m. She is a filly with scope and can feature. 

Race 5

LUTHULI received a bump leaving the start over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course last time but stayed on to finish fifth. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. Apprentice Jacey Botes takes the 4kgs off his back and he should be cherry-ripe. He takes a drop in class and can return to winning ways. 

THAMBI finished 2.5 lengths behind FUTUREWOLFF last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Soft Falling Rain will be staying on at the business end.

FUTUREWOLFF ran on from last when third over 1800m on the Classic course last time. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the widest draw once again and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Race 6

POCKET WATCH stayed on when fourth over 1600m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He takes a drop back in class and if not too far out of his ground turning for home, he should be the one to beat. 

EIGER SANCTION is a winner of his last three starts under Muzi Yeni. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. He takes a rise in class but is in a good space and should be up to the task at hand. 

ROYAL EDITION was given a perfect ride when winning his last start over 2000m on the Classic course. Piere Strydom is a master from the front and from his good draw of three, he may be hard to peg back. 

Race 7

CALIDA has returned to form in his last three starts. He tried hard when third over this C&D last time. It is encouraging that Muzi Yeni retains the ride and he can return to winning ways. 

MICKE‘S BOMB had excuses in her last start over 1000m on the Classic course. She takes a drop in class and the blinkers have been re-fitted. Piere Strydom is riding at the top of his game and he may be able to get the best out of her where it matters most. 

TRIED AND TRUE rallied late when second over this distance on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack last time. That was her first run for the Robyn Klaasen stable.

Race 8

KING OF NUMBERS was no match for the winner over this C&D last time. He drops in class and gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Nihans Baboo. If all goes according to plan, he may give the apprentice his first winner. 

WARM WINTER NITE stayed on when fifth over 1100m last time. He finished second in his penultimate run over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

CAPTAIN EFFICIENT followed up his maiden win with a good second-place finish over 1000m on this course. He has won once, finished second once and third twice from seven starts over this trip. He is a consistent type and cannot be ignored
