She was green in running, but the manner in which she finished off her race was encouraging. She found plenty of betting support that day which suggests that she had been showing good work at home. She would have come on with the run and should love the rise to the mile. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should take a power of beating.

SILVERY BLUE was cramped for galloping room at the 400m mark last time and finished her race off strongly. The daughter of Time Thief will love the extra 100m on offer. She gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Philasande Mxoli and with a bit of luck in running, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

SAFE PASSAGE followed up her maiden victory with an equally impressive victory over 1600m on the Turffontein Inside course. The manner in which she quickened up and drew away from the opposition was eye-catching. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Silvano tries the 2000m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should notch up the hat-trick.
Race 7: MAY QUEEN (2)
Jockey: R Venniker – Trainer: H Adamson
MAY QUEEN ran a good race when finishing third in a feature race last time. She raced from a prominent position that day and stayed on nicely at the finish. It must be noted that Big Burn has come out and won again since. She has won once, finished second once and third twice from six starts on this course. If seeing out the 1450m this afternoon, she should be the one to beat.

THE MAKWAKKERS stayed on nicely when finishing third over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The step up in distance is a slight concern, but this is not a strong field and he can notch up career win number four
