Race 1 

FLIGHTLIGHT is better than her last start as she was reported to be not striding out. The manner in which she finished off her penultimate run over this C&D was encouraging. She has scope and from her good draw of three, she may be the one to beat in this field.

EMPRESS WU has fair form lines to her name. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last outing has come out and won since. The daughter of Global View drops back to 1450m and with a bit of luck from the widest draw, she may be the one to fill the exacta spot.

JINGER JAM was in need of her debut effort over 1200m on this course. She lost three lengths leaving the start and never got into the race. The daughter of Duke Of Marmalade would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1450m.

Race 2

MISTER WILSON produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. He showed good speed before tiring late behind Read All About It. The son of Act Of War would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should take a power of beating.

BRIGHT AND BRAZEN ran a fair race on debut over this C&D. It must be noted that Easy Tiger has come out and won again since. The daughter of Erupt would have come on from the run and is one of the leading contenders.

NYAKA NYAKA finished 0.4 lengths behind the second selection on debut. He should have finished closer as he hung in the final 400m. Muzi Yeni is booked to ride and he should make the natural progression.

Race 3

KALEESH CYBORG is better than his last two starts. The son of Global View may not have seen out the 1800m last time. His best career efforts have come over 1400m. It is encouraging that Muzi Yeni keeps faith in the ride and if putting his best foot forward, he should be involved at the finish.

CAPE SAFFRON has run two fair races to date. She received a bump leaving the start last time and did not go on with the effort. The manner in which she finished off her debut run was eye-catching. The daughter of Flower Alley has plenty of scope and she should be competitive.

CHIEFTAIN’S SHIELD raced wide around the turn over 1600m last time, but stayed on at the finish. Craig Zackey is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

Race 4

JUNIPER GREEN raced from just off the pace over 1160m at Turffontein last time, but found one too good in the form of Green Sapphire. The daughter of Querari takes a drop in class and jumps from pole position. Gavin Lerena rides and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should give the males a run for their money.

FAST DUTY was a tad disappointing over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time. He drops back in class and on best form shown, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

PERINI PALACE tried hard when fourth over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time. Both her career victories have come on this course. Malesela Katjedi is likely to use her early gate speed to overcome her awkward draw without using up too much energy.

 

 

Race 5

SUTHERLAND was running on when fourth over 1200m on this course last time. The son of Silvano is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. He takes a drop back in class and will be mowing down the frontrunners from the widest draw.

FULLY LOADED challenged strongly when second over 1400m last time. He has won twice and finished second twice from as many starts on this course. The son of Pomodoro drops back in class and merits healthy respect.

JUST VAR won a good race in his last start over 1400m at Turffontein. He won his only attempt on this course. The son of Var is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

Race 6

ANOTHER UNIVERSE has produced two good runs since winning his maiden over 2000m. He moved up well in his last start over 2000m, before getting outrun. The son of Ideal World finished third over this C&D in his penultimate run. He does have a wide draw to overcome but he gets the services of Gavin Lerena who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

IDEAL FUTURE stayed on when fourth over 1800m on this course last time. She finished 2.25 lengths behind ROMEO’S MAGIC in her penultimate run. She is 5.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

ROMEO’S MAGIC was an easy winner of his last start over this C&D. He received a five-pound penalty for that victory. The 7yo gelding is in a good space and can follow up with another victory.

Race 7

DANTONFROMSANDTON is much better than his last start in the Grade 2 TAB Gauteng Guineas. He has won once, finished second once and third once from as many starts over this distance. Piere Strydom is booked to ride which is a big plus. From his good draw of four, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

NIGHT BOMBER won a good race in his stable debut over this C&D. He raced from a prominent position and found more where it matters most. Ryan Munger retains the ride and the combination merit healthy respect.

THE AFRICA HOUSE stayed on when second over 1400m at Turffontein last time. He has won once and finished third once from as many starts on this course. The son of What A Winter must be included in all bets.

Race 8

DIVINE MOONLIGHT ran a decent race in her comeback run over this C&D. She showed signs of needing that outing and will strip a much fitter horse. It must be noted that multiple horses have come out and won since. Ryan Munger steps into the saddle and on best form shown, she can return to winning ways.

GLOBAL THUNDER is better than her comeback run over this C&D. She will strip a much fitter horse today. The daughter of Global View drops in class and would not be a shock winner.

VIRGIN RIVER has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. It must be noted that the form of her last outing has been franked. She is back against her own sex and merits obvious inclusion
