Rugby Championship Outright Betting

In terms of the outright betting, at the time of writing New Zealand are 10/11 favourites to win the Rugby Championship title with South Africa 29/20, Australia 5/1 and Argentina are the outsiders of the party at around 35/1 (prices World Sports Betting).

Los Pumas hosted Scotland in a 3 match series in July, It went down to the wire with Argentina winning the first test 26-18, Scotland levelled things up with a 29-6 win and Los Pumas edged the decider 34-31.

In the November internationals Argentina lost 29-20 in France, they did win in Italy 37-16 but finished with a 53-7 hiding off Ireland in Dublin.

Los Pumas also had a miserable time of it in the 2021 Rugby Championship, losing all their matches and failing to pick up any bonus points. Back to back defeats to the Springboks in South Africa (32-12 and 29-10) were followed by defeats to the All Blacks (39-0 and 36-13) and the Wallabies (27-8 and 32-17).

After this the teams clash again in Argentina before Los Pumas face the All Blacks twice in New Zealand and they finish up home and then away to South Africa.

Australia lost their 3 match series at home to England in July. They won the first test 30-28 but lost the next two, 25-17 and 21-17 to go down 2-1.

The 2021 November internationals didn't go well as they lost in Scotland (15-12), England (32-15) and Wales (29-28).

Despite starting last years Rugby Championship with back to back defeats to the All Blacks the Wallabies recovered to beat Argentina and South Africa in both their meetings with those sides.

After the two matches in Argentina the Wallabies return home to host the Boks twice before they take on the All Blacks at home and then away.

Betting Angle

This game looks well capped and the points line of 44.5 also looks about right. I keep coming back to the thought that this game will come down to the wire and in the end will opt for a rare play on the winning margin. Sunbet offer 27/25 that either team wins by 7 or less (incl draw) and that is where I am heading although I may get further involved on the night and will post any bets in the Goodforthegame Forum Rugby Thread
