Lions:

The Lions return with 6 log points after their 4 tour matches delivered 1 win and 3 defeats. In Round 1 they were slight underdogs for a visit to Parma to take on Italian side Zebre but they came away with a 38-26 victory, racing into a 35-0 lead at half time before surviving a second half fightback from the home side.

In Round 2 the Lions lost 36-13 to the Scarlets in Llanelli, failing to stay within a handicap line which ranged from +10.5 to +13.5 points

In Round 3 they went down narrowly (13-9) away to Glasgow Warriors, a game they started as 14.5 point underdogs and last time out they were beaten 26-10 at Ulster.

Cardiff:

Last time out Cardiff edged past the Dragons 31-29 in a home fixture and they now have 3 wins and 2 defeats and a total of 14 log points to show for their efforts so far.

Cardiff have faced South African opposition twice already and with mixed results. In Round 4 they beat the Sharks 23-17 (handicap Sharks +3.5 points) and in Round 3 they hosted the Bulls, they started 4.5 point favourites, led 16-3 at half time and then a second half turnaround saw the Bulls dominate and Cardiff finished a beaten side, going down 29-19.

Cardiff had started with a 33-21 home win over Connacht, scoring 5 tries to 2 to secure a bonus point. In Round 2 Cardiff were edged out 18-14 by the Ospreys in a local derby in Swansea.
