WP v CHEETAHS
Posted 10 August 14h00
This handicap has ranged from Cheetahs -2.5 to -4.5 all week and although leaning to the Cheetahs my interest is in the points markets.
There has been loads of rain in Cape Town and it should be a wet and windy game.
I am always nervous going unders in the Currie Cup so will have a medium play.
BET: 3 units under 52.5 points at 0.92/1 at Betxchange
BULLS V GRIFFONS
Posted 9 August 10h30
I handicapped this game 19 points higher than the opening line and got on the -36.5 earlier in the week, The line has moved to -40.5 and I still think Bulls are the play.
They won by 42 with a much changed side in Welkom and although the Griffons have shown improvement I expect the toll of 5 successive matches with a much smaller squad will take its toll.
I am always nervous about the big caps so just an interest for now as I think it can move further and I will return once we have points lines.
BET: 3 units Bulls -40.5 at 9/10 at Hollywoodbets*

As promised I am back!
The points line has opened at 72.5 and I am not sure that is high enough.
The Bulls got 8 tries in Welkom and I am backing them to get at least 1 more at Loftus in what should be perfect conditions.
BET: 6 units Bulls over 8.5 tries at 11/10 at Sportingbet
GOLDEN LIONS V PUMAS
Posted 9 August 10h21
The Lions hammered the Pumas 75-21 in Nelspruit but since then the Pumas have raised their game and the Lions have dipped a bit.
The handicap is -7.5 and although I went -5.5 I am going to sit tight on this one and am going to wait for the points.

We have points lines at last.
Betxchange go 59.5 and I am going to take the overs.
Both Lions home games have gone under this line but overs would have arrived in all but 1 of the Pumas games.
There were 96 points when the sides met in Nelspruit and I am staying on the overs train in what looks like perfect conditions.
BET: 5 units over 59.5 points at 0.94/1 at Betxchange*

SHARKS v GRIQUAS
Posted 9 August 09h17
It seems strange to start with the Sunday game but I think the line will move. I capped this match at Sharks -13.5 in my Sunday handicapping exercise and I was surprised when it opened -5.5.
There has been some movement with most books now -6.5 but there is still some -5.5 on offer.
It is dangerous to read too much into Currie Cup form but in their last 2 games the Sharks have beaten the Lions by 13 on the road and drew 44-44 to the Pumas away. The Griquas have lost to the Lions by 8 points at home and went down by 40 points to the Pumas.
On hat evidence I have to grab the -5.5 still on offer.
BET: 6 units Sharks -5.5 at 9/10 at Hollywood*
