Uefa Champions League football continues on Tuesday 3rd November with the action coming from Groups A to D and we take a look at the betting for selected matches including Atalanta v Liverpool
Group A
Bayern Munich top this group with 2 wins from2, Ateltico are second with 3 points and Salzburg and Lokomotiv Moscow have 1 point each. Atletico head to Moscow for an early kick off and Bayern go to Salzburg and both visiting sides are short priced favourites in the region of 1/3.
It might not be the best of betting heats but Salzburg have scored 4 goals so far, a 2-2 draw at home to Moscow and 3-2 defeat in Madrid. This is a bit of a shot to nothing against Bayern but they might just sneak a goal, albeit in defeat.
Bets: Salzburg v Bayern, away win and both teams to score? (yes) at 9/10
Group B
Shakhtar top this group with 4 points, Monchengaldbach and Inter have 2 points each and its surprising to see Real at the bottom of the quartet with just a single point against their name. Matchday 3 sees Shakhtar host Monchengladbach in the early kick off and Real are at home to Inter.
Shakhtar pulled off an excellent 3-2 win in Madrid and followed up with a 0-0 draw at home to Inter. Victory here would put them in a strong position at the half way stage and this is arguably the most winnable fixture from their remaining matches. However Gladbach came away from Inter with a 2-2 draw and then played out another 2-2 draw at home to Real. I see 3 goals or more in the game with both sides on target.
Real and Inter have both been below par and defeat for either side would leave them with plenty to do in the second half of the group stage. With that in mind I'm going to nibble at the draw at a shade under 3/1.
Bets: Shakhtar v Gladbach, over 2.5 total goals and both teams to score? (yes) at 8/10.
Real Mardid v Inter, draw at 59/20
Group C
Manchester City control Group C with 2 wins from 2. Porto and Olympiacos have 3 points and Marseille have yet to open their account.
City are at home to Olympiacos in a one sided betting heat however I fancy the home side will keep a clean sheet.
Bets: City to keep a clean sheet (yes) at 19/20
Group D
Injury hit Liverpool have maximum points in Group D, Atalanta have 4 points, Ajax 1 and Midtjylland have yet to open their account.
The headline game is Atalanta v Liverpool and the home side have been in the goals with a 4-0 win at Midtjylland and a 2-2 draw at home to Ajax. They will be fired up for this visit from Liverpool who have won at Ajax (1-0) and at home to Midtjylland 2-0. Liverpool have yet to concede but given they are short of first choice defenders they will do well to extend that sequence here.
At 11/10 to win the game Liverpool are still tempting but as I see Atalanta causing them problems I will go with the away win with both sides on target at a bigger price.
