Porto 33/10 Draw 11/5 Juventus evens

Porto finished as runners up to Manchester City in their group with Olympiacos and Marseille some way back in third and fourth. Porto won 4 of their group matches, drawing 1 and their only defeat came in Manchester. The only goals they conceded came in that 3-1 defeat to City, they drew 0-0 in the return with the English side and their other 4 matches were each won by a margin of at least 2 goals.

Porto are currently second in the Portuguese top flight but the gap to league leaders Sporting is 7 points and Porto have played a game more.

Juventus pipped Barcelona to top spot in their group courtesy of a 3-0 win at Camp Nou on Matchday 6. Their only blemish in the group stage had come in a defeat at home to Barca and they completed wins at home and away to the group's also rans, Kyiv and Ferencvaros.

Juventus lost an important Serie A game at Napoli (1-0) at the weekend and they are fourth best in the standings, 8 points behind Inter but with 1 game in hand. As far as recent form is concerned they have won 6 of the last 8 league games.

Verdict:

I fancied Juve to win in Serie A at Napoli at the weekend and although they let me down, perhaps the close proximity of this game was a factor. Porto can be a handful and will need a positive result ahead of the return in Turin but I see this been tight with at least 1 side keeping a clean sheet.

Bets: Both teams to score? (no) at 9/10

Sevilla 13/10 Draw 5/2 Dortmund 43/20

Sevilla finished as runners up to Chelsea in their group with Krasnodar and Rennes third and fourth. Their meetings with Chelsea delivered a 0-0 draw at Stamford Brige and a 4-0 home defeat but otherwise it was a comfortable passage through.

Sevilla are fourth best in La Liga, just 1 point behind Barcelona, 4 shy of Real and 9 adrift of Atletico. They have won 8 of 11 home games, drawing 1 and losing 2. Recent form is excellent with 8 straight wins in domestic league and cup matches.

Dortmund came through their group with 4 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat to finish 2 points clear of Lazio with Brugge third and Zenit a distant fourth. Their only defeat came to Lazio (3-1) on Matchday 1 and the draw came against the Italian side in the return in Germany.

Dortmund are currently sixth best in Bundesliga 1 with a record of 10 wins, 3 draws and 8 defeats. They have won 5 of their road trips in the league, drawing just 1 and losing the other 5.

Verdict:

Dortmund's Bundesliga form Is erratic and they have battled away from home recently, losing 4 of their last 5. With that in mind they could be vulnerable here and although not banker material, current form means I'm happy enough to side with Sevilla.

Bets: Sevilla to win at 13/10.
