bafanaSouth Africa's World Cup qualifying campaign continues on Tuesday when they host Ethiopia and Bafana come into the game in top spot in the group.

After three rounds of matches South Africa top Group G with 7 points, Ghana have 6 points and Ethiopia have 3 whilst Zimababwe have just a single point against their name.

There are 10 qualifying groups from the Africa region but only 5 nations will go on to make it to Qatar. The ten group winners will face off in 2 leg play offs to determine which teams will qualify for next years finals.

South Africa

Bafana were 3-1 winners in Ethiopia last week and at the half way stage in the qualifying group they are unbeaten with 2 wins and 1 draw. A goalkeeping error from a Teboho Mokoena free kick gave Bafana a 1-0 lead at half time against Ethiopia and although the home side squared things up on 67 minutes, Mvala (72 minutes) and Makgopa in injury time sealed a vital win.

Bafana's only home game so far delivered a 1-0 win over Ghana who were missing a number of key players. Hlongwane scored in the 83rd minute of that game which came after the opening group match against Zimbabwe in Harare had finished in a 0-0 draw.

Victory here will keep Bafana on course for the play offs with a home game against Zim and the return in Ghana to come.

Ethiopia

Ethiopia now have no margin for error in their play off bid. They have beaten Zim 1-0 in a home fixture and their campaign began with a 1-0 defeat in Ghana but they now face the likelihood of having to win all their remaining matches if they are to overhaul the top 2.

The Betting

South Africa are currently trading at around 4/10 to win the game with the draw at 28/10 and Ethiopia are priced at around 6/1

A game of 3 goals or more in total is priced at even money and it's 13/10 for both teams to find the net.

Verdict:

Ethiopia look short of fire power but they will have to be positive in their approach so this looks a great opportunity for Bafana.

I think South Africa will get the job done but it could be tense and given 3 of 6 matches in this group have been settled by a single goal a home win by 1 goal exactly gets my vote.

Bet: South Africa to win by 1 goal exactly at 23/10
