BettingDiaryLive Absa Premiership Football and the 1st T20 between South Africa and England are two of the sports betting highlights punters can look forward to on Wednesday. We take a closer look in our Daily Diary.

CRICKET

After drawing the 3 match ODI series 1-1 South Africa and England take to the field again at Buffalo Park in East London for the 1st T20 on Wednesday. The English are favourites for the win at 4/7 with the home team currently on offer at 29/20.

There are as usual a host of Exotic Markets on offer and you can get 4/1 that Quentin de Kock hits the most sixes of the match with England’s Buttler trading at 9/2. The bet we fancy though is under 173.5 first innings runs at current price of 17/20.

There is also cricket action in the Momentum One Day Cup on Wednesday when the WSB Cape Cobras, currently priced at 19/20, are at home to the Titans who are trading at 17/20.

FOOTBALL

There is PSL action on Wednesday night with Wits up against Maritzburg United.

Wits are currently 5th on the table, 15 points behind Chiefs, but they have at least 3 or 4 games in hand over all of those above them on the table. They face a Maritzburg side that currently sits 6th on the log, but has only won once in their last 5 matches.

Wits have a very strong record against Maritzburg at home and we fancy the 15/20 they win the match, while for those interested in the other outcomes, the draw is 26/10 and Maritzburg are 7/2.

These fixtures tend to be low scoring and under 2.5 goals is priced at 6/10.

HORSE RACING

Local horse racing takes place at the Greyville Polytrack in Durban, an 8 race card starting at 12:45 and set to finish at 16:45.

There are some fairly firm favourites in the first few races of the day and we think that First Sighting might rate as a Pick Six banker, Horse No. 7 in the 5th Race currently priced at 14/10. The 7th race looks a competitive one, but we do like the chances here of the favourite Farland, Horse No. 1 under the guidance of Anton Marcus and currently priced at 7/2 for the win and 35/80 for a place.

There is also a 10 race card at Turffontein tomorrow with racing starting at 15:25 and finishing at 20:40 and it includes the Gauteng Fillies Guineas and the Gauteng Guineas, Races 7 and 8.

This meeting had to be rescheduled due to heavy rain and we like the chances of the favourite Summer Pudding, in the Fillies Guineas, currently priced at 5/2 while in the Guineas we are expecting a big run from the Mike De Kock trained Frosted Gold priced at 4/1.
