BettingDiaryThere are 2 English Premier League matches taking place on Wednesday night and we take a look at each of them from a betting angle.

MANCHESTER UNITED v WEST HAM

Manchester United are coming off a disappointing 3-1 FA Cup semi-final loss to Chelsea, but their League form has been excellent and sitting in 5th place they are very much in the hunt for a Top 4 or even a Top 3 finish. They have played 7 matches since returning from the COVID-19 break, dropping just 4 points in that time with 5 wins and 2 draws. Their last home game was a 2-2 draw to Southampton, prior to that they beat Bournemouth by 3 and Sheffield United by 3 goals.

West Ham are coming off back-to-back victories over Norwich away and Watford at home and that has ensured their EPL survival. They have won 4 out of 18 away matches this season.

Looking at the head-to-head clashes between the sides West Ham beat United 2-0 at home earlier in the season, but last time the sides met at Old Trafford it was United who came out victors 2-1.

Manchester United 1/4

Draw 11/2

West Ham 10/1

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Manchester United (-2) at 31/20

For this bet to arrive I need Manchester United to win by 3 goals or more and while it might seem a big order they have won 2 of their last 3 home games by those margins and they face a West Ham side that will consider its job to be done and may well step off the gas.

LIVERPOOL v CHELSEA

Liverpool have wrapped up the title, but they have been far from their best since the COVID-19 break. A lot of that is likely due to pure relief at having won the title which looked like it might be cruelly taken from them. In their last home game they drew 1-1 with Burnley and prior to that battled to a 2-0 win over Aston Villa, that draw to Burnley was the first point that they have dropped at home all season.

Chelsea currently sit 3rd on the log and in a real battle with Manchester United and Leicester for a top 4 finish. They beat United in the FA Cup on the weekend and have won 3 of their last 4 League matches although their last away game was a 3-0 defeat at Sheffield United.

Liverpool beat Chelsea 2-1 on the road earlier in the season and they won this fixture 2-0 last season.

Liverpool 21/20

Draw 28/10

Chelsea 5/2

Suggested Bet: The draw at 28/10

I can totally understand why Liverpool haven't been at their best and although they will obviously be looking to win this one they face a very motivated Chelsea side and I think the visitors can get a point.
