There is Friday night English Premier League football for punters to get stuck into and we take a look at the game between Southampton and Leicester from a betting angle.
Southampton are currently 15th on the log and have fallen quite dramatically since they made a strong start to the season. They have lost four of their last five matches and most recently went down 2-1 away at Tottenham, but their last home game was a 3-2 win over Burnley.
Recent Southampton matches have had plenty of goals in them and over 2.5 goal backers would have collected in their last five matches, 2 of which have seen at least 5 goals scored. Southampton have won 6 and drawn 2 of 15 home matches this season and digging a bit deeper into their goal stats shows that 7 of their 15 matches would have delivered profits had you been on over 2.5 goals, however 3 of the last 4 home Southampton games have had 3 goals or more in them.
Leicester are 3rd on the table after back-to-back home victories over Crystal Palace and West Brom. The victory over Palace on Monday was particularly impressive as they had to come from behind and looked out of sorts in the first half.
Leicester’s away form has been excellent this season with 10 wins and 4 draws in their 16 matches, but their last away game did end in defeat, 3-2 away at West Ham.
Over 2.5 goal backers would have collected profits in 5 out of the last 6 Leicester EPL matches and 9 of their 16 away games have reached the 3 goal mark.
Leicester won 2-0 at home earlier this season and last season they won this fixture by an incredible 9-0 margin.

Southampton 49/20
Draw 11/4
Leicester 21/20
Suggested bet: Leicester win at 21/20
Leicester have had a busy schedule of late, but they will be highly motivated for the win and their destiny as far as the top four finish goes is very much in their own hands. I think they can beat a Southampton side that is struggling and does not that have that much left to play for this season.
Looking at the goal markets I quite like the 8/10 over 2.5 goals and if I was going for a speculative play it would be Southampton 1, Leicester 3 at odds of just under 15/1.
