BettingDiaryThe Algarve International Circuit in Portimao, Portugal is the host of this week’s F1 Grand Prix. We take a look at the race from a betting angle.

We have had plenty of thrills in the first 2 Grand Prix’s and in the early running Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen are only separated by a point at the top of the table.

Hamilton won the opening GP in Bahrain and then Verstappen did the business in the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix. In that race he beat home Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris who completed the podium.

It is nice to have a championship race again and looking at the betting, Lewis Hamilton is the 8/11 favourite with Verstappen 11/10 and you can get 33/1 and better the balance.

LAST YEAR

The Algarve International Circuit made a return to Formula 1 racing in 2020 and proved very popular with drivers and fans alike. Hamilton won on that occasion ahead of his teammate Bottas with Verstappen completing the podium.

Max Verstappen 14/10

Lewis Hamilton 16/10

Valtteri Bottas 10/1

Sergio Perez 11/1

Charles Leclerc 33/1

Lando Norris 33/1

66/1 and better the balance

Suggested Bet: Lewis Hamilton win at 16/10

Hamilton was dominant at this track last year and although he was beaten by Verstappen last time out, I expect him to bounce back to stamp his authority on the Championship race at a track well suited to the Mercedes strengths.

Remember that this bet comes with a money back guarantee in the form of free bets should Hamilton run 2nd – see promo details on the banner below.

Suggested Bet: Lewis Hamilton, Fastest Qualifier 7/4

Verstappen is a strong favourite in this market, but Hamilton was the fastest qualifier last year and I fancy he is the value to go in again.
