BettingDiaryTuesday’s sports betting action is dominated by the Champions League, we take a closer look at some of the fixtures in our Daily Diary.

FOOTBALL

The Champions League group stages conclude for 16 teams on Tuesday night.

Liverpool top Group E, a point ahead of Napoli and 2 points ahead of Salzburg and they are away at Salzburg where they are 17/10 to get the victory with the home team 27/10 and the draw 63/20.

Napoli should have few problems in seeing off bottom of the table, Genk and they are 1/6 to get the job done.

Group F provides some interesting betting odds with Barcelona assured of going through in top spot and therefore likely to field a weakened team.

Dortmund and Inter Milan are both locked together on 7 points in 2nd place and Dortmund are 3/10 at home to Slavia Prague while Inter Milan are as short as 11/20 to beat Barcelona at home, so what could in theory have been a really tough fixture for them may well end up being an easy victory as it is a dead rubber for Barcelona, at least that is what the betting suggests.

Group G has been fairly tight all the way through, Leipzig are 3 points clear of Zenit and Lyon with the leaders away at Lyon and 7/4 to win the match with the draw at 26/10 and Lyon 29/20.

Zenit won’t have it all their own way on the road to Benfica and the home team, Benfica, are 11/10 for the win with the draw 51/20 and Zenit 49/20.

Group H is another interestingly poised one with Ajax on 10 points and Valencia and Chelsea on 8. Chelsea will fancy their chances of progressing in 2nd place or even winning the Group when they host Lille at home and they are 2/9 to beat the bottom placed Lille.

Ajax and Valencia meet and Ajax are 6/10 to take out the victory at home with the draw 34/10 and Valencia 39/10.

HORSE RACING

Local Horse Racing takes place at the Vaal Racetrack on Tuesday although given the current rains it is doubtful whether this meeting will take place. Assuming it does we have an 8 race card set to get off at 13:05 and finish at 17:20 and in Race No. 4, Victoria Paige will be a popular Pick Six banker at the prohibitive odds of 2/11 for the win at the time of writing. Of course another option may be to beat that big favourite in which case Horse No. 11, Cairon could be banker material in the last race at 19/20.
