BettingDiaryEuropa League Football and Golf are amongst Thursday’s betting highlights and we take a closer look in our Daily Diary.

GOLF

The PGA Tour heads to Japan for the first time for the ZOZO Championship.

A quality field has been assembled with American Justin Thomas heading the betting at 8/1 with Rory Mcilroy priced at 17/2 second favourite.

All eyes will be on Tiger Woods who makes his competitive return from knee surgery and he is priced at 40/1 a win and 8/1 a Top 5 finish. A man we fancy to go well this week is Tommy Fleetwood, currently priced at 25/1 a win and 5/1 a Top 5.

There are 3 South Africans taking part this week and in the Top South African betting Louis Oosthuizen who returns from a layoff is 12/10 with Dylan Frittelli 2/1 and the little known Shaun Norris 22/10. Given Oosthuizen’s long layoff we think there maybe a little bit of value for Frittelli at 2/1.

We touched on the Portugal Masters in our Wednesday Diary and Matt Wallace continues to top the betting boards at 10/1 and from a South African perspective Dean Burmeste looks like he could be readying himself for a big Tournament at 60/1 and 12/1 a Top 5.

FOOTBALL

There is a full house of Europa League action on Thursday night and in Group E, Celtic host Lazio at a price of 31/20 for the win with Lazio 16/10 and the draw 49/20. Celtic are currently top of the group with 4 points, 1 point ahead of Lazio who sit third.

In Group F, Arsenal host Vitoria Guimaraes and are 1/4 to see off their opponents with over 3.5 goals priced at 12/10. The Gunners have won 2 from 2 and should have few problems against their opponents who sit bottom of the table.

Manchester United are also in action on Thursday night in Group L away at FK Partizan where they are 27/20 to win the match with the home team 41/20 and the draw at 23/10. These sides both sit on 4 points from 2 matches, but Partizan top the table by virtue of having scored more goals.

HORSE RACING

Local horse racing takes place at the Vaal Racetrack on Thursday with an 8 race card set to get going at 13:10 scheduled to finish at 17:20.

The card has a very open feel to it with Horse No. 1 in Race 4, Heart Stwings, currently the shortest price favourite in the Pick Six at 18/10 and 1/4 a Top 4 finish in a large field. Our value bet comes in the 6th Race run over a 1000 metres where we fancy Horse No. 8 Succession trained by Tarry and ridden by Danielson at a current price of 15/2 a win and 21/20 a Top 4 finish.
