There is Tuesday night English Premier League action for punters to sink their teeth into and we take a look at the match between Leeds and Southampton from a betting angle.
These sides are 12th and 13th on the table respectively with Leeds 2 points ahead and both sides having played 24 matches.
Leeds recent form has been poor with back-to-back defeats away at Wolves and Arsenal. Their last home game though was a 2-0 win against Crystal Palace. Leeds have only drawn 2 of their 24 matches this season and both of those draws have come at home. They have also won 4 of their 11 home matches and Leeds home games have averaged 2.9 goals each and had you been backing over 2.5 goals in each of those games you would have been collecting profits in 5 of the 11 matches.
Southampton broke a 6 match losing streak when they drew 1-1 at home to Chelsea on the weekend, after taking the lead in the first half. They have only taken 2 points from the last 15 they have played for on the road and have lost their last 3 away matches in succession. Southampton away matches have averaged 3.5 goals each, but as far as the over/under 2.5 goal line goes the stats are exactly the same as the Leeds home games with 5 of the 11 matches reaching 3 goals or more.

Leeds 23/20
Draw 26/10
Southampton 47/20
Suggested Bet: Southampton win at 47/20
Southampton have last their last 3 away games, but prior to that they were undefeated on the road this season. The fact that they were able to draw to Chelsea at home on Saturday suggests to me they have turned the corner and they could be the value here to beat a struggling Leeds outfit.
For the record I think we will get goals in this one and bookmakers have priced up accordingly with over 2.5 goals trading at 6/10 so if you are going to have a go at the goals market perhaps 14/10 over 3.5 goals is a better bet.
Looking at the correct score here I wouldn’t mind a speculative play 23/1 on the final score line being Leeds 1, Southampton 3.
