BettingDiaryWe take a look at the two Super Rugby AU matches taking place this weekend and suggest a bet in each of them.

Let’s start with a look at the Outright Betting where the Reds have now firmed into 15/20 favourites with the Brumbies drifting out to odds against quotes for the first time this season and they are now on offer at 13/10. The Rebels are 11/1 and you can get 250/1 the Force.

REBELS v WESTERN FORCE

The Rebels let plenty of punters down last weekend when they went down by 25 points to the Reds at home. Prior to that they were convincing victors against the Waratahs at home and edged the Force 10-7 in a low scoring encounter on the road.

The force are coming off a bye last week, having been hammered 42-14 by the Brumbies away the previous week and prior to that they put in one of their best performances of the season losing by 8 points to the Reds on the road.

Rebels 2/7

Draw 30/1

Western Force 33/10

Handicap: Rebels (-9.5) at 9/10, Western Force (+9.5) at 9/10

Suggested Bet: Half-time Handicap, Rebels (-4.5) at 9/10

I don’t think the Rebels were as bad as the final score line suggested last week and their morale really dropped when they conceded a couple of intercept tries. I expect them to take some advantage of the Force’s rustiness after their bye and to build up a lead of 5 points or more by the break.

REDS v BRUMBIES

The Reds kept up their 100% record when they beat the Rebels 44-19 in Melbourne last week. Their home matches this season has seen them beat the Force by 7, the Rebels by 2 and the Waratahs by 34 points. When they met the Brumbies earlier this season they came from behind to win 40-38 in Canberra.

The Brumbies were pushed hard by the Waratahs last week where after building an early lead they hung on to eventually win the game 24-22 in Sydney. In their only other away game this season they beat the Force by 16 points in Perth in Round 1 of the competition.

When these sides met in Brisbane last season it was the Reds who came out on top 26-7.

Reds 15/20

Draw 25/1

Brumbies 13/10

Handicap: Reds (-2.5) at 9/10, Brumbies (+2.5) at 9/10

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Reds (-2.5) at 9/10

These are without doubt the top two sides in the competition, but for me the Reds have been slightly more impressive and I think they will do enough to beat this Brumbies side by 3 points or more.
