BettingDiaryStage 6 of the Tour de France starts at Le Teil and finishes 191 kilometres away at Mont Aigoual. We take a look at the stage from a betting perspective.

Stage 5 Wrap

Stage 5 of the Tour de France may well go down as the most boring in recent history. I have never watched the stage where there hasn’t been a single break bar one effort from Kasper Asgreen to get away early.

In the end we were treated to an exciting finish and Wout Van Aert continued an incredible season with a victory over Sunweb’s Cees Bol with Sam Bennett running into 3rd. Caleb Ewan battled to get into position and never really got into the firing line.

There was some drama after the stage with Julian Alaphilippe been docked 20 seconds for an incorrect feed and Adam Yates is now the Yellow Jersey.

There is very little change to the Outright Betting although Primoz Roglic has firmed in to even money.

Stage 6 looks an interesting one with some tough climbs near the end and a number of the breakaway specialists will be licking their lips.

Stage 6 Verdict

If it comes down to a GC battle then Roglic will be hard to beat although Guillaume Martin looks capable of a bold show and could prove to be better value at these odds.

The short list can become a long list the more you look at this stage but after a rare day with no breakaway on Wednesday we can expect some quality riders to get away. Two who fit the bill are Lennard Kamna and Ben Hermans, both of whom are very capable of delivering for their respective teams on their day and at some stage on this tour their focus will be on stage honours.

Stage 6 Bets:

Lennard Kamna (from a breakaway) 22/1

Ben Hermans (from breakaway) 40/1

Guillaume Martin (in case of a GC battle) 33/1

Don't forget our money back promotion for a second place finish on all stages of the tour.
