BettingDiaryThe Tour de France, Stage 19 covers 166 kilometres starting off at Bourg-en-Bresse and finishing in Champagnole. We look at this stage from a betting perspective.

Stage 18 Wrap

Stage 18 of the Tour de France featured one of the strangest finishes you will ever see as teammates, Carapaz and Kwiatkowski rode to the line together arm-in-arm. The commentator said the result didn’t matter, but for many who had backed either of the riders it was an agonising wait to see whose wheel had narrowly crossed the line first. In the end it was Ineos’s super domestic Kwiatkowski. The stage always threatened to be a damp squid from a General Classification point of view and it proved to be the case with the main favourites finishing together.

Stage 19 looks set up for the sprinters although it is a bit hillier than your average sprint stage and coupled with tired legs we could see some surprises here.

Stage 19 Verdict

Jasper Stuyven could put up a bold show in a tricky race to call. The profile should suit him and he may benefit from the work likely to be undertaken by the team of Peter Sagan.

Nils Pollit is a more speculative choice as an outsider. He is another strong rider who could get in the right move at big odds

Stage 19 Bets:

Jasper Stuyven at 25/1

Nils Politt at 125/1
