BettingDiaryThe Tour de France, Stage 14 takes place on Saturday with the start in Clermont-Ferrand and the finish in Lyon covering 194 kilometres. We look at the stage from a betting angle.

Stage 13 Wrap

Stage 13 of the Tour de France went as expected and to the breakaway with Daniel Martinez, a man who was expected to be challenging for a podium position too strong for the Bora pairing of Kamna and Schachmann on a brutal final climb.

The General Classification contenders may not have raced for the stage, but there was plenty of action behind and Yellow Jersey wearer and current favourite, Roglic and Pogacar gained time on Bernal. Landa and Lopez also delivered impressive rides as did Richie Porte who only lost 13 seconds to the Slovenian pair.

Roglic has shortened further in the Yellow Jersey betting with Pogacar now clear second favourite ahead of Bernal.

Stage 14 has plenty of climbing, but it mainly comes early in the stage and it doesn’t look tough enough for a General Classification battle. Watch out for the team of Peter Sagan as they try to put the Green Jersey, Sam Bennett under pressure.

Stage 14 Verdict

The rolling profile lends itself to a reduced sprint of proven classics riders. If Wout Van Aert is given a day off from looking after the race leader he will be tough to be beat whilst Peter Sagan will be keen to prove the doubters wrong and make up ground in the green jersey race.

We will go with Sagan and add a more speculative play on Jasper Stuyven

Stage 14 Bets:

Peter Sagan at 6/1

Jasper Stuyven at 25/1
