BettingDiaryThere are 3 English Premier League matches taking place on Thursday night and we take a look at each of them from a betting angle.

BURNLEY V WATFORD – Click Here to bet

Burnley are in 11th place, but have only taken 2 points from the last 9 they have played for and in their return to action were hammered 5-0 at Manchester City on Monday night. They are undefeated in their last 4 home games though and overall have won 7 and drawn 2 of their 15 home matches.

Watford are 16th on the log and they scored a valuable equaliser deep into injury time against Leicester at home in their return from lockdown. Watford have really battled on the road this season with just 2 wins in 15 starts and they have only taken 1 point from the last 12 they have played for on their travels.

Burnley beat Watford 3-0 away in the reverse fixture, but last season Watford won this fixture 3-1.

Betting

Burnley 43/20

Draw 9/4

Watford 14/10

Suggested Bet: Watford win at 14/10

Burnley are certainly not the only side that are going to get a hammering from Manchester City over the coming weeks, but it was a really disappointing performance from them and a Watford side desperate for points can bag 3 valuable ones here.

SOUTHAMPTON V ARSENAL – Click Here to bet

Southampton are in 14th position after a convincing 3-0 win away from home against bottom club, Norwich. Their home form has been awful this season though with just 4 wins and 2 draws in 15 starts.

They face an Arsenal side that has come back from the COVID-19 break and experienced back-to-back defeats away at Manchester City and Brighton. The Gunners currently sit in 10th place and have won just 2 of 15 away matches this season.

These sides played to a 2-2 draw when Arsenal hosted the reverse fixture in November.

Betting

Southampton 16/10

Draw 5/2

Arsenal 17/10

Suggested Bet: The draw at 5/2

I expect this to be a closely contested match and the draw looks the play to me.

CHELSEA V MANCHESTER CITY – Click Here to bet

Chelsea came from behind to beat Aston Villa on Sunday and they currently sit 4th on the table, 12 points behind Manchester City who hammered Burnley 5-0 and also beat Arsenal at home in the middle of last week.

Chelsea have battled a bit at home this season, winning under 50% of their matches although they have won their last 2 home games against Everton and Tottenham.

Manchester City have battled on the road by their standards losing 5 of their 15 matches including 2 of their last 3.

City beat Chelsea 2-1 at home in the reverse fixture, but last season Chelsea beat City 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Betting

Chelsea 16/5

Draw 3/1

Manchester City 8/10

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Chelsea (+1) at 1/1

I was quite impressed by the second half display of Chelsea against Villa and while, of course, City have swept aside anybody put in front of them since the break, I think that Chelsea can end their run with either a win or a draw.
