BettingDiaryThe European Championships continues on Saturday with 3 matches spanning groups A and B and we take a look at each of the games and we suggest a bet in each.

WALES v SWITZERLAND

Wales finished runners-up in their qualifying group and their final match was an impressive 2-0 win over Hungary at home. One stat that jumps out from their qualifiers is that their last 5 games all saw 2 or 3 goals scored.

The Swiss only lost once in their qualifying group and that was on the road to Denmark. They finished up with 3 successive victories including a 6-1 hammering of Gibraltar in their last game. Those matches of course were way back in 2019, but since then they have won both of their World Cup 2022 qualification matches. They have also come out on top in a couple of recent friendlies.

Wales 3/1

Draw 2/1

Switzerland 5/4

Suggested Bet: Total Goals Aggregated 2-3 at 19/20

As mentioned above this is a common outcome in Wales games and I do expect this to be a tight encounter with the Swiss coming out on top.

DENMARK v FINLAND

Denmark qualified behind Switzerland in their group, but they actually got the better of the Swiss in the head-to-head encounters, winning at home and drawing 3-3 in Switzerland. They have won all 3 of their World Cup 2022 qualifiers and have looked good in the build-up.

Finland were a never threatening second to Italy in their group and they have looked pretty shaky in the build-up to the competition with 3 successive defeats in friendly Internationals. Their World Cup 2022 campaign has seen them draw both their opening games.

Denmark 9/20

Draw 33/10

Finland 17/2

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Denmark (-1) at 27/20

Denmark look to be in great form and should be too strong for this Finland side.

BELGIUM v RUSSIA

Belgium topped their group with a 100% record and they were in the same group as their opponents here, Russia, who they beat 4-1 in Russia and 3-1 in Belgium. Their World Cup qualification is looking good with 2 wins and a draw and in their warm-ups they beat Croatia and drew to Greece.

Russia’s only points dropped in the group stages were against Belgium where they lost both games and in more recent action they have won 2 and lost 1 of their World Cup Qualifiers and drew to Poland and beat Bulgaria in warm-up matches

Belgium 8/11

Draw 28/10

Russia 9/2

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Belgium (-1) at 19/10

It has been a couple of years since they have played, but Belgium won both matches in the qualification stages by more than a goal. I have been very impressed by them with make them a lively contender for the title.
