The second T20 World Cup semi final takes place in Mumbai on Thursday where England take on India
TIME TO PITCH UP OR SHUT UP – Semi Final 2
The time is running out on the tournament, and the contenders need to pitch up and perform, or their torch will be snuffed.
ENGLAND v INDIA, Wankhede
England play the game loud, but not as loud as they will be receiving from the home fans. The Poms return to India are sure to get a warm welcome. The clock is sure to stand still for this one.
Both teams have had one outing at this venue, but the English could be at a bit of a disadvantage having spent the past two weeks playing in the lower, slower Sri Lankan conditions. The Windies did score 250 on this track against Zim the last time we saw action in Mumbai so the team batting first will need to aim high.
Will India make it packing time for Brook and co. or can England silence the Indian fans for good?
I think England will make the home fans sweat, but much like with the Windies game I see them getting the job done (just about) in the end. Instead of folding under expectation, I reckon the home side has enough star power that will shine when the stage is set for them.
Player to score the most Sixes – Wg Jacks @ 17.00 with Pokerbet
Yes, he must surely be due a failure but at this price I can look past another cameo from the talented allrounder.
Player to Score Most Fours – S Samson @ 8.00
It is always dangerous reading too much into the previous result, but Samson will open for India and often prefers keeping the ball on the ground – especially when compared to the likes of Abishek and Ishan Kishan. I think we are getting good value here.
Man of the Match – J Bumrah @ 10.00
The match is less likely to be dominated by spin (I know I said that about the other semi and the spinners did the business). It should be a flat batting deck, but Bumrah is the master and a strong showing from a bowler could be the standout for Man of the Match honours.
