Tuesday 21st April Sunrisers Hyderabad v Delhi Capitals
Venue: Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad
Match Result Betting: Sunrisers 8/10 Delhi even money
The Sunrisers have played 6 matches and have 3 wins and 3 defeats against their name. Last week was a good one as they ended the Royals 100% start to the tournament with a 57 run win at this venue and they followed up with a 10 run victory over CSK in another home fixture at the weekend. SH posted 194/9 against Chennai with Sharma and Klaasen both scoring 59 and Eshan Malinga returned figures of 3/29 and picked up the MoM award as CSK’s chase ended on 184/8.
The Capitals have won 3 and lost 2 of their 5 matches. They started with a win at Lucknow and at followed up at home to Mumbai before back to back defeats at home to the Titans and in Chennai. Last time out Delhi beat RCB by 6 wickets in Bangalore, chasing down 176 for victory with KL Rahul (57) and Tristan Stubbs (60 not out) the top scorers.
The Player Performance market is again the focus of the betting interest. Heinrich Klaasen is hard to keep out of the game, scoring plenty of runs and taking a few catches in the outfield and he is taken to beat this quote
Bets: Player Performance Heinrich Klaasen over 28.5 at 0.87/1 with Lucky Fish
Wednesday 22nd April Lucknow Super Giants v Rajasthan Royals
Venue: Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow
Match Result Betting: LSG 1.35/1 Royals 6/10
LSG have won just 2 of their 6 matches, losing the other 4. Those wins both came away from home, against the Sunrisers in Hyderabad and the Knight Riders in Kolkata. Last time out they went down to Punjab Kings by 54 runs away from home. Two games in Lucknow have been pretty low scoring. LSG lost to Delhi here after posting just 140 and their bat first total of 164/8 was chased down by Gujarat Titans who came out on top by 7 wickets.
After reeling off 4 straight wins to start their tournament the Royals have lost both of their most recent outings. They went down to the Sunrisers by 57 runs in Hyderabad and last time out they became the first team to lose to KKR this season, going down by 4 wickets in Kolkata after posting a below par 155/9. The Royals openers put on 81 for the first wicket against KKR before the wheels came off. Jadeja took 2 wickets for just 8 runs in his 3 overs of the run chase but KKR got up with 2 balls to spare.
It’s only the third game at this venue and this looks tricky to me with LSG having lost here twice whilst the Royals have lost their last 2. I’ll settle ion Rishabh Pant to nail a couple of sixes.
Bets: Rishabh Pant over 1.5 total sixes at 1.55/1 with Lucky Fish
Thursday 23rd April Mumbai Indians v Chennai Super Kings
Venue: Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
Match Result Betting: Mumbai 6/10 CSK 14/10
Mumbai snapped a 4 match losing streak in a dominant 99 run win away to Gujarat Titans on Monday. Batting first they posted 199/5 with Tilak Varma smashing an unbeaten 101 off 45 balls including 7 of his sides 10 maximums. Thereafter pretty much all the Mumbai bowlers got among the wickets with Ashwani Kumar’s 4/24 the best figures as the Titans were bowled out for 100 in 15.5 overs. MI’s only other win came in their opening match at home to KKR.
CSK also have 2 wins and 4 defeats against their name. They lost their first 3 matches before putting together back to back wins at home to Delhi and KKR. Their bid to make it 3 from 3 came up short last time out when they went down by 10 runs away to the Sunrisers. Anshul Kamboj returned figures of 3/22 but CSK were still tasked with chasing 195 for victory. Lots of batsmen got starts but Short’s 34 was CSK’s highest score and their chase finished on 184/8.
The Mumbai bowling unit hit their straps last time out and I’m siding with them to restrict CSK to no more than 187 runs.
Bets: CSK total runs under 187.5 at 17/20 with Sportingbet
