The second ODI between South Africa and Australia takes place at The Wanderers, Johannesburg on Sunday and in terms of the series the Proteas are 1-0 up with two to play
This is a 3 match series and the final contest takes place at Potchefstroom on Wednesday next week. After that we have 3 test matches to look forward too. Let’s begin with the ODI squads.
The first ODI was staged at Kingsmead, Durban on Thursday and South Africa, despite starting as underdogs came out on top by all of 67 runs.
Australia won the toss and opted to bowl first and South Africa went on to post 297/8 with the major contributions coming from Matthew Breetzke (112) and Marco Jansen (75). The Proteas hit 8 maximums with Jansen responsible for 4 of them and Breetzke hit 14 of their 31 boundaries. Nathan Ellis with 3/57 was the top Australian wicket taker.
Australia’s run chase got off to a brisk start with Marsh (60) and Head (36) putting on 90 for the first wicket in just 9.2 overs. Cooper Connolly added 38 and Renshaw 44 but a healthy 129/1 became 230 all out and the game was over in 41.2 overs. Maharaj with figures of 4/20 was the top SA bowler, Australia hit 7 maximums and 23 boundaries. Breetzke was Man of the Match and the Proteas lead 1-0. This was how the teams lined up in Durban on Thursday.

The Verdict
The match result betting for the second ODI is the same as the first although the total sixes lines have moved up a touch. I still think there could be some blue sky in the total sixes line but for a bet I will go “overs” on Australia’s line of 7.5.
