Just the one Betway Premiership match takes place in midweek and it’s a big one with Amazulu and Orlando Pirates both aiming to take over at the top of the standings.

Amazulu

They have played 16 matches compared to Pirates 14 whilst Chiefs and Downs have both played 15 but a win here will catapult them into top spot.

Recent result include a 1-0 win away to Marumo Gallants last weekend, a 3-2 home win over TS Galaxy and a 1-0 win in a KZN derby away Arrows. Their overall home record comprises of 6 wins and just the one defeat with Polokwane City the only team to win here in early November. Amazulu have scored 10 goals in their home games whilst conceding just 4 and they now take aim at Pirates for the first time this season.

Orlando Pirates

Since the mid season break Pirates have played two league games, a 0-0 draw away to Sekhukhune followed by a comfortable 2-0 home win over Magesi at the weekend. That stretches their Betway Premiership unbeaten run to 12 matches (10 wins and 2 draws). The Bucs are currently second on the log, level with Sundowns whose goal difference is (+2) superior to the Bucs but they do have this game in hand and if they avoid defeat they will go top of the standings.
