Wolves host Newcastle and Aston Villa take on Everton in the English Premier League on Sunday and we also have a play in Monday’s clash between Brighton and Bournemouth

Wolves v Newcastle (Sunday)

Wolves remain bottom of the standings with 7 points, 14 shy of fourth bottom Forest but they have performed with great credit over recent weeks. They put up excellent displays in narrow defeats at Liverpool and Arsenal in December and then drew 1-1 at Manchester United, they were 3-0 winners at home to West Ham and last time out they drew 1-1 at Everton. That victory over West Ham is their only 3 point haul of the season but they have also progressed in the FA Cup and are clearly in their best form of a torrid season.

Newcastle lost the first leg of their EFL Cup tie at home to Manchester City 2-0 on Tuesday night. They also progressed in the FA Cup with a penalty shoot out win in a home tie against Bournemouth and despite missing a number of players through injury, especially in defence, they are in decent shape in the EPL. Newcastle have won each of their last 3 league outings, at Burnley (3-1) and at home to Palace (2-0) and Leeds (4-3). That run saw them finish the previous round in sixth place, their highest position of the season so far.

Newcastle won the first meeting this season 1-0 at St. James Park.

Wolves have been great of late but Newcastle have been finding the net plenty of times in recent league games so even though they fired blanks in the EFL Cup in midweek I'm prepared to row in with the visitors to score 2-3 in their multi goal market.

Bet: Newcastle multi goals 2-3 at 11/10 with Sportingbet

Aston Villa v Everton (Sunday)

Villa won at Spurs in the FA Cup last weekend whilst recent league results comprise of a 4-1 defeat at Arsenal, 3-1 home win over Forest and more recently a 0-0 draw at Palace. The loss at Arsenal ended an 8 match winning streak and they come in this round of matches in third spot, behind Man city on goal difference and 6 points shy of league leaders Arsenal.

Everton have been hit by injury and suspensions and remain in mid table after winning 1 of their last 6 league games (away at Forest) alongside 2 draws and 3 defeats. They also exited the FA Cup after losing on spot kicks to Sunderland in a Round 3 home fixture and they return to league action just below half way in the standings.

The first league meeting this season on Merseyside finished without a goal.

Everton were down to the bones for last week’s cup tie, they could have one or two key men back here but Villa are in such good form I’m with 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 to the hosts.

Bet: Multi score, Villa to win 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 at 2/1 with Sportingbet

Brighton v Bournemouth (Monday)

A South Coast derby is the final action in the round and Brighton come into it boosted by their FA Cup third round win over Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend. Their last home game delivered a 2-0 win over Burnley and they followed up with a very decent 1-1 draw away to Man City and they are in the mid table scrum with 29 points.

Bournemouth exited the FA Cup after losing a shoot out at Newcastle after the game finished 3-3 after extra time. They lost Semenyo to Man City in the New Year and were on a horrible run over 11 without a win in the EPL until they edged out Spurs 3-2 in their most recent home fixture.

Bournemouth won the first league meeting this season 2-1.

Brighton look to be coming back into form whilst Bournemouth still seem to be battling to keep the goals out. I’m with Rutter to score any time for Brighton.

Bet: Anytime goalscorer Rutter at 2/1 with Pokerbet
