The four remaining matches in Gameweek 19 of the English Premier League take place on Thursday and we have a play for all the games including Crystal Palace v Fulham, Liverpool v Leeds, Brentford v Spurs and Sunderland v Manchester City
Prices quoted are correct at the time of publication but subject to change.
Crystal Palace v Fulham
Palace were 2-1 winners at Fulham in December but since then they have exited the EFL Cup (on penalty kicks at Arsenal) and lost 3 straight league games, at home to Man City (3-0), at Leeds (4-1) and at home to Spurs (1-0) and they are now in mid table.
Fulham are level with Palace on 26 points and they have won each of their last 3, at Burnley (3-2), at home to Forest (1-0) and most recently at West Ham (1-0).
These teams are side by side in the standings and although it’s the visitors who are in the better form I quite fancy the draw here.
Bet: Match result draw at 24/10 with Sportingbet
Liverpool v Leeds
Liverpool made hard work of seeing off Wolves 2-1 at Anfield but that win moved saw them finish Round 18 in fourth spot, now 13 points behind league leaders Arsenal. They have won 4 and drawn 2 of their last 6 league games and Wirtz finally got his first league goal for the club in that win over Wolves.
Leeds put in a really good shift in a 1-1 draw at Sunderland and could justifiably feel they should have taken all 3 points. With 2 wins and 3 draws in their last 5 league games they are in by far their best form of the season. A 3-3 draw at home to Liverpool was part of that sequence and they finished the previous round 6 points clear of third bottom West Ham.
Liverpool have scored 2-3 goals in 5 of their last 6 league games and I’m with that trend to continue here.
Bet: Liverpool multi goals 2-3 at even money with Sportingbet
Brentford v Spurs
Brentford have had a good Xmas with a 2-0 win at Wolves and 4-1 home victory over Bournemouth (Schade hat trick). They have moved into the top half of the standings with 26 points and now take aim at Spurs who beat them 2-0 in the first meeting between the sides as recently as mid December.
Spurs came away from Palace with a 1-0 win last time out and they are 1 point behind Brentford in the standings. They put in a dismal show in another recent road trip away to Forest, losing 3-0 but 17 points on their travels is the joint best away record in the top flight.
Spurs are blowing hot and cold whilst Brentford can normally be relied up to put in a good shift at home. I fancy a high scoring game with both sides contributing.
Bet: Both to score yes and over 3.5 goals boosted to 11/4 with Sportingbet
Sunderland v Manchester City
This will be the third match where Sunderland will be without 4 regular starters who are on AFCON duty. They drew the first 0-0 at Brighton but were very much on the back foot in a 1-1 draw at home to Leeds last time out when they were also without key defender Dan Ballard. Still, they remain unbeaten at home this season with 5 wins and 4 draws and a healthy 28 points.
City’s 2-1 win at Forest last time out saw them remain 2 points shy of league leaders Arsenal who then stretched that lead to 5 with a win over Villa on tuesday. They have reeled off 6 successive league wins which includes a 3-0 home victory over Sunderland in mid December.
Sunderland will have a game plan to make it tough for City but with some key men missing I’m not sure they have the quality to implement it successfully. I think it will be high scoring.
Bet: Total goals over 3.5 at 1.64/1 with Pokerbet
