Aston Villa host Burnley and after a horrible start to the season Villa have reeled off 3 straight wins, 2 of which came in the Europa League, 1-0 at home to Bologna and Thursday's 2-0 victory at Feyenoord. In between they beat Fulham 3-1 at Villa Park for their first EPL win of the season, John McGinn was on target in all 3 of those games and Villa come into this match in sixteenth position with 6 points from as many matches.
Burnley's only win this season came in Round 2, 2-0 at home to Sunderland. Since then they have added just 1 more point to their tally from a 1-1 draw at home to Forest. Away from home Burnley have lost 3-0 at Spurs, 3-2 at Man United and most recently 5-1 at Man City.
Burnley have had a very tough set of fixtures and have probably done a bit better than the bear results suggest but I imagine they would rather have come up against Villa a couple of weeks or so ago when they were out of sorts. Still, I think there is scope for goals for both sides and hopefully 1 more.
Bets: Total and both teams to score? Over 2.5 and yes at 5/4 with Betway
Everton take on in form Crystal Palace and the hosts are unbeaten in their new stadium with a 2-0 win over Brighton and draws with Villa (0-0) and most recently West Ham (1-1). They have also won at Wolves and they finished the previous round in mid table with 8 points.
Palace stretched their unbeaten run across all competitions to a club record 19 matches with a 2-0 win away to Dynamo Kyiv in the Europa Conference League on Thursday. Last weekend they brought Liverpool's 100% record to an end with a 2-1 win at Selhurst Park and away from home this season they have drawn at Chelsea (0-0), won at Villa (3-0) and also got the better of West Ham (2-1).
Everton have had the whole week to focus on this whilst Palace have been in Europe. The visitors look the more likely to me but that travel factor could be a leveller and I'm with the draw.

Newcastle clash with Notts Forest at St. James Park. Newcastle breezed past Union SG with a 4-0 away win in the UCL in midweek and now bid to improve on their EPL record which has seen them take just 6 points from 6 matches, scoring just 4 league goals whilst conceding 5. They lost 2-1 at home to Arsenal last Sunday, Liverpool also won here (3-2) but they did beat Wolves 1-0 in their other home fixture.
Forest lost 3-2 at home to to Midtjylland in the Europa League on Thursday to leave Postecoglou still looking for a first win in 6 games (all competitions) since taking over from Nuno. The fans turned on the new boss at the end of Thursday's result which came on the back of a 1-0 home defeat to Sunderland. Away from home Forest have drawn at Palace and Burnley (both 1-1) either side of a 3-0 defeat at Arsenal. Forest have just the 5 points from their first 6 league games and finished the previous round fourth from bottom.
Could be more problems for Forest here but again I'm siding with btts yes in a game of 3 goals or more in total.
Bets: Total and both teams to score? Over 2.5 and yes at 11/10 with Sportingbet
Wolves have home advantage against Brighton and the home side are looking to build on their first point of the season which came in a 1-1 draw at Spurs last weekend. Earlier results at home saw Wolves lose to Man City (4-0), Everton (3-2) and Leeds (3-1).
Brighton took advantage of a Chelsea red card to come from a goal down to win 3-1 at Stamford Bridge last time out and that victory moved them into mid table with 8 points. Earlier away games saw them go down 2-0 at Everton and 2-1 at Bournemouth.
Wolves came within seconds of getting their first win and on the back of a solid display at Spurs I see them picking up another point here.
Bets: Match Result Draw at 11/4 with Betway
Sunday's late kick off sees Brentford host Manchester City and the hosts come up against Manchester opposition for the second week running. Last weekend they were 3-1 winners at home to Man United and they are unbeaten at home having earlier edged out Villa 1-0 and drawn with Chelsea 2-2. All 7 of their points have arrived in front of their own supporters.
City conceded late in a 2-2 draw at Monaco in the UCL in midweek and they were also pegged back in injury time of their most recent EPL road trips a 1-1 draw at Arsenal. They thrashed Burnley 5-1 in a Round 6 home fixture to finish the round in seventh poisition with 10 points, 5 shy of league leaders Liverpool.
Surely scope for goals and 4 or more is my play.
