Four English Premier League games take place on Tuesday when our focus is on Leeds v Sunderland and Wolves v Liverpool
Prices quoted are correct at the time of publication but subject to change.
Leeds v Sunderland
Leeds went down 1-0 at home to Man City at the weekend, ending a useful sequence of results which saw them win at home to Forest and pick up draws away to Chelsea and Villa. They now have 31 points, 2 better off than Spurs, 4 more than Forest and 6 in front of West Ham who are currently third from bottom.
Sunderland halted a run of 3 successive defeats (away to Arsenal and at home to Liverpool and Fulham) with a hard earned 1-1 draw away to Bournemouth on Saturday. That moved them up to 37 points and inching closer to safety but they have a few injuries and generally find it tough to create chances and earn points away from home.
The first league meeting this season finished all square at 1-1, Leeds had the better of it and they will view this as an opportunity to increase the pressure on those teams just below them and indeed Sunderland. I’m taking my chances with sides finding the net in a game of 3 goals or more in total.
Bet: Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals? Yes 15/10 Sportingbet
Wolves v Liverpool
Wolves picked up their second league win of the season when they saw of Villa 2-0 in a home fixture on Friday night. Prior to that they held arsenal to a 2-2 draw in another home game and although they are 14 points from safety they continue to give their best.
Liverpool thrashed West Ham 5-2 at Anfield on Saturday and they have taken maximum points from 4 of their last 5 league games. Recent road trips delivered a pair of 1-0 wins at Sunderland at Forest. At Anfield they have beaten Newcastle 4-1 but they came unstuck late on in a 2-1 defeat to Man City. Liverpool are fifth on the log, 3 points behind fourth placed Villa and third placed Man United.
Liverpool won the first league meeting 2-1 at Anfield and they made hard work of it after leading 2-0 at half time. After keeping clean sheets in their last 2 road trips I’m with the visitors to win 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0.
