Saturday’s English Premier League football is a four match coupon and we have a play in each game including Aston Villa vs Manchester City, Arsenal vs Everton and Chelsea vs Spurs
Aston Villa vs Man City
Villa made it 3 wins from 3 in the UCL with a 3-1 home victory over Viking in midweek. They return to league action with 8 points in total but only 1 of those was earned in 3 home fixtures, a 2-2 draw with Brentford whilst Arsenal (1-0) and Forest (2-1) both left Villa Park with maximum points.
City were also winners in the UCL in midweek, they were without Haaland in a 5-1 hiding of AEK Athens in Manchester with Foden scoring a hat trick. City’s perfect start to the EPL season continued with aa 3-2 home win over Ipswich last weekend and on the road they have won at Palace (4-1), Man United (1-0) and Liverpool (3-0). They come into the weekend program 3 points clear of Arsenal at the top of the standings.
Verdict:
City have lost on each of their last 3 visits to Villa Park and they will need to be on their game with Villa having recovered from a slow start to their EPL campaign. Keep an eye out for that City team news but as long as Haaland is OK I see goals for both sides here and hopefully 4 or more in total.
Bet: Both teams to score and over 3.5 total goals at 33/20 with Sportingbet
Arsenal vs Everton
Second placed Arsenal were in UCL action in midweek and they came away from Bayern with a 2-2 draw and they now focus on bridging the gap to Man City at the top of the standings which is currently 3 points but could be 6 if City win the above early kick off. The Gunners only defeat this season came 3-0 at Brighton and they have been foot perfect at home with wins over Coventry (3-0), Chelsea and Leeds (both 2-1).
Eighth placed Everton lost for the first time this season when they went down 2-0 at home to Chelsea last week. Away from home this season they have drawn at Bournemouth (1-1), Spurs (0-0) and Hull (2-2).
Verdict:
Saka picked up an injury for Arsenal in Munich which could keep him out for of the coming matches so keep an eye on that team news if he is pivotal to your bet. Although they brushed Coventry aside at home Arsenal did just enough to see off Chelsea and Leeds here and I’m thinking they may also win this by the minimum margin.
Bet: Winning margin, Arsenal by 1 goal exactly at 51/20 with Hollywoodbets
Coventry vs Fulham
Coventry started the season with 4 straight defeats in the EPL including home games against Hull (lost 1-0) and Brighton (lost 5-0 before a 1-0 win at Forest and 4-1 thrashing of Newcastle in their most recent match in front of their own supporters. They couldn’t follow up last Monday night when they went down 3-1 at Spurs and they finished the round 1 point and 1 place better off than third bottom Fulham, their opponents here.
Fulham’s first win came last weekend when they got the better of Hull (1-0) in a home fixture. They came unstuck when conceding 2 late goals in a 2-1 defeat at Ipswich last time they travelled but they did draw 0-0 at Liverpool in an earlier road trip.
Verdict:
This is huge and any winner will have some daylight over the bottom 3 whilst the loser will be right in it. Both sides have improved off the back of miserable starts and any of the 3 possible match result outcomes would come as no great surprise to me. With that in mid the draw, the biggest price of those options, is where I’m heading
Bet: Match result draw at 5/2 with Sportingbet
Chelsea vs Spurs
Chelsea are up to fourth on the back of wins at home to Bournemouth (5-1) and away at Everton (2-0) in their last 2 matches. Other home games saw them beat Brighton (4-3) and draw with Hull (2-2). With 17 goals scored and 13 conceded Chelsea have seen more total goals than any other top flight side and 6 of their 7 matches have gone over 2.5 and 4 over 3.5.
Spurs 3-1 win over Coventry saw them move off the foot of the standings and up to sixteenth. That was first win of the season with other points coming from draws at Forest (0-0) and Man United (1-1) and at home to Everton (0-0).
Verdict:
Chelsea have thrown in the odd shocker such as a 3-0 defeat at Brentford and even the 2-2 draw at home to Hull but they have generally looked full of goals. The last 4 EPL head to heads have been won by Chelsea and all by a single goal margin and I’m with that trend to continue.
Bet: Winning margin, Chelsea by 1 goal exactly at 29/10 with Hollywoodbets
