The final action in the seventh round English Premier League matches sees Spurs desperate to open their win account when they host improving Coventry on Monday night
Spurs
Spurs are bottom of the standings with 3 points from 0-0 draws at Forest and at home to Everton and most recently they finished all square (1-1) with Manchester United at Old Trafford. Aside from last week’s draw in Manchester their only other league goals came in a 3-2 defeat to Villa in their most home game. A draw here would see Spurs move above Sunderland but stay in the drop zone whilst a win would move them up to at least sixteenth.
On the team news front Savio is out injured along with Lucas Bergvall and Pedro Porro. Dejan Kulusevski is back in the squad after a lengthy absence.
Coventry
Coventry started the season with 4 straight defeats in the EPL including home games against Hull (lost 1-0) and Brighton (lost 5-0). They also went down away to Arsenal (3-0) and Man City (1-0) but they got on the scoreboard in Round 5 with a 1-0 win at Forest with Jay Dasilve scoring their first EPL goal of the season. Things got even better last Monday night when they thrashed Newcastle 4-1 in a home fixture thanks to goals from Rudini, Cherif, Simms and Mfuni.
Kesler-Hayden is fit again whilst Josh Eccles and Luke Woolfenden are expected to remain on the sideline. Coventry kick off in sixteenth position and a win could see them move as high as tenth.
The Betting
Spurs are trading at 5/10 with the draw at 36/10 and Coventry can be backed at around 5/1
A game of 3 goals or more is 11/20 and it’s 7/10 for both teams to score.
Price boosts from Sportingbet include Ellis Simms to have 2 or more shots on target at 31/10 from 5/2 and Marmoush to score the first goal at 23/4 from 21/4
Verdict:
Despite a rapid improvement from Coventry over the last couple of rounds I’m thinking Spurs can be in the goals here. Solnake sccored late on after they had been reduced to 10 men at Man United and I’m backing him to pop up again any time.
Bet: Anytime goalscorer Solanke at 29/20 with Sportingbet
