Monday’s English Premier League action features two sides who desperately need a win as West Ham host Brentford
Prices quoted are correct at the time of publication but subject to change.
West Ham
West Ham will kick off second from bottom with just 4 points against their name. New coach Nuno has been in charge for the last two matches, a 1-1 draw at Everton was a useful start but last time out they went down 2-0 at Arsenal. This is an opportunity for Wesst Ham to open their points account in front of their own supporters after three earlier home games under Graham Potter saw them lose to Chelsea (5-1), Spurs (3-0) and Palace (2-1).
Niclas Fullkrug is an injury doubt.
Brentford
After the weekend results Brentford were down in sixteenth position. They have 7 points, 3 more than Wesst Ham and a much better goal difference (-3 vs -10). Just prior to the international break Brentford lost 1-0 at home to Man City, the only league game this season where they have failed to score. All 7 of their points were earned in home matches including wins over Villa and Man United but on the road they have lost at Forest 3-1), Sunderland (2-1) and Fulham (3-1).
Antoni Milambo is a long term injury absentee.
The Betting
West Ham are 15/10 with the draw at 23/10 and Brentford can be backed at 18/10.
A game of 3 goals o more is priced at around 9/10 and it’s 7/10 for both teams to score.
The Verdict
Both sides should see this as winnable but given West Ham have lost all 3 home games and Brentford have yet to pick up a point away from home it’s no easy task calling this one.
I’m going to take the view that we will see both sides score and hopefully one more.
