South Africa v New Zealand Third Test, Currie Cup Semi-Finals, Argentina v Austr

It wasn't a great betting weekend for me, and although I hit profit in two of the four Currie Cup games, my biggest bet was on the Stormers over 3.5 tries, and that never looked a runner.

I never really got involved in the Springboks v New Zealand Second Test and was just relieved that the Boks got the win, although I did throw a few units at the last try-scorer markets. So I was less than impressed with Rassie when my 18/1 pick Thomas du Toit was suddenly put into the starting lineup rather than coming off the bench!

Bookmakers have priced up on the Third Test, and the Boks are currently -6.5 for the match, which takes place at Soccer City in Johannesburg.

We're also down to the Currie Cup semi-finals, with Griquas topping the log and earning themselves a home semi-final against the Lions, who managed to scrape into fourth.

The Cheetahs were well beaten by the Pumas in Nelspruit, but they get an early chance for revenge as they welcome the Pumas to Bloemfontein in their semi-final.

I'll be out with my handicap projections on Monday.

Have a good week, everyone, and I look forward to your thoughts on this thread.

Boks steady at -7.5

When I saw the points line at 53.5 I thought "Southpaw is going to fire this" and I was to but the weather looks a concern so keeping the powder dry for now.

Still hurting after the arg aus overs missed. I went into last Saturday feeling bullish after a great Friday betting results but then gave absolutely everything back and kicked myself in the nuts for taking Sa over 3.5 tries when had posted both total pts and SA pts as my early fancies.

saying all that If pts drop closer to 50 I will be definitely going overs…

Hi Dan, Mossman started a new job so the timing does not suit him at the moment but we will hopefully find a way to get him back into the action soon

Boks v All Blacks Preview is up and updated with an early bet

New Zealand over 22.5 points at 17/20

Weather forecast appears to be improving a bit and I can see this line moving to 24.5 or even 25.5 if it stays that way - I don't have the patience to wait

Has anyone ever tipped a draw on the rugby forum? Its been a close series thus far with a few soft moments and 50/50 referee decisions being the difference between the teams. I don't think a draw is totally out of the occasion on Saturday and would set up a dream finale for the final test in the States.

SA v NZ - Draw @ 25/1

That said, I feel there won't be more than a single score between the teams, so NZ +8 @ 93/100.

still waiting on more bookies to open pts markets but looks like the line will settle at 53.5 to 54.5, and i will likely be an overs player here, weather forecast improving as brent points out.

Another interesting market - NZ to score more tries @ 13/10, feels a runner given have outscored boks on tries in first 2 tests.

Hi Quill, I have not been following but man that is a high points line

The weather will be worth watching as it looks as though the predicted cold front and rain is on its way

Added a speculative play to the SA v NZL preview

Drop Goal YES at 6/1

Not value just a gut feel

Quite like Malcolm Marx for player of match around 14/1. Think he goes deep into this game and gets more minutes than a normal starting 2 and he is such a crucial player to Boks.

We hear you Coil

A weather update is that we had some rain in Joburg yesterday afternoon and overnight, woken up to overcast skies and windy conditions. It could rain further for sure but if it stays like this I think conditions will be ok

I cant recall a more one sided game so far in the Waikato match. Canterbury dominating but only 5pts in front @35mins.

The Undertakers -36pts bet is looking dodgy ... :-)
